Rumour circulating that Moorabbin were exempt from playing under the points cap and were over at times this year. Clubs will be demanding player points assessments be made public in 20/21.
Interesting I think also that neither PV or Oakleigh had a player in the TOTY playing 11 (maybe Pearson 12th man) Also PV lost quite a few older players and their Poms and won a flag with two 15 year olds from their Craig Shield team.
Pearson, Brennan, McKay, etc. It won’t matter anyway. It’s spin to win, stump to stump in subbies. You need 50 overs a day with the keeper up to the pegs in subbies. They’ve struggled to make finals let alone win them. Wasting their time and money.
Feel like Cashwick are a bit misguided chasing Pearson. They’ve gone for an all out pace attack which doesn’t work in subbies. Pace OFF the ball wins subbies games. Particularly in finals. Although they wouldn’t be aware of that yet I suppose. Should have chased a decent spinner. More cash down...
Cracking game set up with Brunswick v Kew. Both would be slightly nervous with PV getting 235 at Williamstown. At least Yarraville get to enjoy their Saturday night!
