Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association
Sorry to interrupt you C graders discussion, but the Bendigo Addy had an interesting article this week confirming 2 new sides for the Emu Valley comp next year.
One is from a comp North of Bendigo and the other?
You guys would probably know...
Emu Valley Cricket Association
Anyone from this comp haunting these corridors?
What are your thoughts on the upcoming finals series?
I see the 4 as being settled but that is as far as I can predict.
Any of the teams in the 4 could realistically win I reckon but if I had to put it on...
Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association
Funny you should mention that because I play in the EVCA and I know for a fact that at the last league meeting delegates were sounded out as to their thoughts on a Castlemaine club being admitted into the league.
There have also been...
Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association
Turn it up mate. You might be the coach of the red hats but that doesn't mean you need to make ridiculous statements like they are a premiership threat.
I am finished with your league now and only bring up past injustices to stop the league...
Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association
Nothing to do with last week I know nothing about what happened there, I am referring to a round several seasons ago which was called off due to smoke.
North may have had a 'handy' score but Barkers had a more than handy batting line up and...
Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association
Bit of smoke around Bendigo today. If it blows down the Calder I assume there will be no cricket in Castlemaine again this week as per a few years ago?
Or does it depend on how confident North are of winning their game?
Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association
I see the CDCA has pulled the pin on tomorrow's game already!
Nice to see on the website that the under 16s still have the balls to play!
Maybe you should change the comp to the CDA seeing as the cricket part doesn't seem to happen anymore...
Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association
Looks like I was wrong when I said nothing has changed in the CDCA.
A few years ago I remember playing in over 40 degrees or thereabouts regularly and there was no mention of calling games off.
It was not even discussed.
Sad day for...
Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association
I can't believe all the angst about the country week selectors!
In my experience the country week 'selectors' only qualification is to have a phone and a phone book so they can ring around and beg blokes to play.
Hardly selectors at all...
Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association
What you are saying supports Gladstone's call that the team is picked on reputation and not form.
It would seem to be very hard for a new player to break into the side if you pick people just because you think they can step up.
I'm not even...
Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association
Just going by the stats from my cricket:
Brett Cole
BATTING
INNINGS 8
RUNS 184
HIGHEST SCORE 72
AVERAGE 23.0
BOWLING
OVERS 39.2

Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association
The ultimate week for country cricketers is grand final week for their own club and to say that country week is about the best players is a joke. In years gone by Castlemaine's team would be lucky to contain 3 of the best players and I bet...
Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association
The kids??????? You have to be kidding. Judging from the results I see posted each year for the last few the majority of the players have been 30+.
Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association
That's funny I thought this thread was about the CDCA not about bigger things going on in the world?
My mistake.
And the league wasting hundreds of dollars of the clubs money so some school teachers and students and anyone else not...
