Re: Wrist Spin Bowling
ok guys... need help

it was turning, but i just dropped everything short and i got hit for alot of runs and no wickets,
i got the feeling that there wasnt enough energy in my action, but when i went back to the...
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling
Wrong un's...... and flippers.....
any tips??? i know how, but i cant get em consistent, + they tend to screw my leg break so i havnt given too much practise on them
Re: god help me!!! i cannot play off my pads!!
im a terrible terrible slogger, miss half the time, and generally get caught.
our school only does this once every 5 or 6 years, im goddamn lucky to have just broken into the 1st 11 when it was on
Re: god help me!!! i cannot play off my pads!!
ill try, i cant play till 2 weeks time filming, cause my cameras at home and im on tour with my school in west indies, god they bowl so fast, my scores so far....
0, 3, 13, 0, 0 oops
the pitches are really really bouncy so anything short either...
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling
the magnus effect is where the spinning ball "drags" air with it in the direction that it is spinning so causing one side of the ball to be in a lower pressure than the other
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling
drift in the air, which i assume u talk about is caused by the Magnus effect, like the same way a golf ball swings when it slices or hooks. this happens because most spinners dont bowl pure sidespin, they add a degree of over spin which induces the drift.
imho the best...
Re: god help me!!! i cannot play off my pads!!
both really, i love batting, i just happen to be relatively crap at it...
most people in our squad dont "waste" time on throwdowns with tail end batsman, illhave to try and convince them otherwise
cheers,
also technique wise, can someone walk me...
god help me!!! i cannot play off my pads!!
im a bowler who bats a bit, i think im allright on the offside, cut, backfoot punch, drive. however anything leg stump and im insta-LBW.
i know like the technique, dropping the shoulder and all that, i just cant play,
NB i can play the pull and hook...
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling
i think that a world class spinner should be able to get inside the mind of a batsman and draw up an appropriate plan, for instance, against a slogger, i might even leave cow corner empty and bowl ala vettori to induce a slog, but against a blocker , bowl a bit quicker...
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling
i suspect he was trying to induce a slog, if he got slogged, he might have bowled a couple of fullish loopy ones and then a short one and caught a batsman outside of the crease or with his feet in the wrong place, good tactics
what do u think about my views on turn, grip...
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling
Short __ anything that sits up to be hit, giving the batsman time. i.e. a good flipper isnt short if it doesnt give the batsman time.
was vettori bowling with alot of flight???
bowling loopy balls with lots of flight a little short can tempt a batsman to the slog - i...
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling
Dave, i think the vettori approach is great and it is always satisfying to outthink a batsman, but..., if u have the reputation/ appearance of being able to turn the ball on any surfacem, batsmen will tend to give u even more weapons in ur mental arsenal,
as i said spin...
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling
alrite... havnt been on for a while.
heres the deal, i now THINK that i understand the basic mechanics in my action. this may or may not help since some people have unorthodox actions, but the line of the delivery is determines mainly by the alaignment of the body...
