    A Plyometrics Blog

A Plyometrics Blog Hi all, This close season (UK) I am planning on doing a course of plyometrics to improve my explosiveness. I am mainly focusing on the legs, but to ensure an all round fitness level will include upper body exercises. The reason for doing this is I had an ACL...

    Muralitharan v Warne v Kumble.

Re: Muralitharan v Warne v Kumble. I would go with Warne. Not just because he is a fantastic bowler and has a (in my eyes) legitimate action but I would rather share a pint in the bar afterwards with him. He would be a right laugh!!

    Bowling too full

Re: Bowling too full Agree with that mas. Its like the American way of teaching golf. Hit it as far as you can and then straighten up later.

    Playing across

Re: Playing across Maybe I didn't explain myself properly. I would coach cross batted shots and apply them to correct situations. But in my mind the word 'slog' brings up images of head up, eyes closed, and swing the bat as hard as you can in an effort to hit the ball as far as you can. That is...

    Slower balls

Slower balls What type of slower balls do people use and why? My main slower ball is an off cutter by running my fingers down the outside of the ball. I use this as I find it is easy to bowl and get in the right areas. Also my grip is the same as my stock ball so harder to detect. The hardest...

    Wicket Keeping Chat/Chirps/Calls HELP

Re: Wicket Keeping Chat/Chirps/Calls HELP There is something in that Stumped. Our wicket keeper compliments players on shots in the hope that they will play more shots and eventually play a false one and get themselfs out. Reverse psychology at its finest!

    Playing across

Re: Playing across Akkers the main thing from what you say is that he has been coached only the drive. A good coach would coach a full range of shots. In fact the pull shot is one of the first shots I coach. However I would never coach somebody to play accross the line in an attempt to slog.

    Bowling Tips

Re: Bowling Tips Whatever type of (quick) bowler you are your hips should be sqaure on to the batsman at release (for accuracy and pace). A good indicator of this are whether your knees are together at point of release.

    Twenty20 in local cricket????

Re: Twenty20 in local cricket???? As well as playing in a 50 over league on weekends my club already compete in a 20/20 league and cup on wednesday evenings and have done for years. I think it is good fun but tend to find that most of the game is played by only 5/6 players and the rest turn up...

    South Africa tour England

Re: South Africa tour England I thought he was the leading bowler in the Pura Cup? Anyway as I say it was a rumour so probably holds little truth.

    South Africa tour England

Re: South Africa tour England I heard a rumour that England only picked Pattinson because Australia were having a look at him as a possible bowler for next years Ashes. So England picked him and ruled him out of ever playing for Australia. Unfortunatly they didn't bargain for the fact he is...
