I made that field as a knock on myself for bowling too much leg side crap. When I bowl to a right hander that field would be useless. To a left hander though, flip it and I reckon I'd do a bit better. Lefties always pull or sweep me no matter how far outside off I try to pitch the ball. :p
I should be looking to keep my back and head straight and steady from the start off my run up all the way to the end of my follow through.
Is this a true statement?
Is it possible for the feeling of 'ripping' the ball to become habitual? When I was bowling today I realised that I really didn't feel like I was ripping the ball at all, and I couldn't really spin it any harder when I tried. I'm just wondering if spinning the ball harder is something I'm going...
Warne talked about leg spin bowling at the lunch break a couple of days ago, but he didn't really say anything of note. He did say that he will be launching his new website in the next month.
Not a whole lot of interesting stuff.
This is extremely random, but I'm looking for footage of this match here (http://www.howstat.com/cricket/statistics/Matches/MatchScorecard_ODI.asp?MatchCode=2427), an ODI in early 2006 between Sri Lanka and Australia.
Does anyone know where I would be able to find some footage of this game...
What is meant by bowling with a loop? Does this only refer to the dip you get on the ball?
How is dip on the ball enhanced? More overspin? Any adjustments that can be made to my action to increase dip?
When I come off my normal run up, I'm bowling okay but I have a problem with not spinning the ball up and dropping short.
However, when I bowl off no steps (just starting with my feet in position, bowling and following through) the ball spins up out of my hand, lands full with flight, turns...
Thanks mate. I originally thought it was some sort of nerves making me freeze up, but then it happened it the nets as well so I thought it had to be something to do with not warming up properly.
Any tips for having your wrist warmed up when you come on to bowl? I struggle in my first over or two because I can't get it warm. Just to clarify, not shoulder, wrist.
Quick was definitely the wrong word. I'm bowling flat and struggling to spin the ball up automatically, so I was considering giving that drill a whirl.
Sorry for spamming out the thread a little.
What should I be thinking about when bowling on a turf wicket compared to an synthetic wicket? For example, quicker, slower, loopier, fuller etc.
Watching Warne's action side on there is no rock back at all. Not quite sure why the booklet says anything about rocking back, might have been relating to off spin.
I have a booklet written for leg spin coaches in 1998, and it says as following. A booklet for leg spin coaches is just as useful as a booklet directed at the bowler.
So basically, here is my problem. My season has just started, and as usual I've come back with a stupid mistake with my...
