    Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11 Glad someone agrees. It would make perfect sense. Less player unavailability as they would only have to miss the one weekend of cricket if they had to work/holiday. Not two weekends, because as it currently stands if they're unavailable for one weekend...

    Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11 22 round season = all 100 over 1 dayers. Everyone plays each other home and away. Job done.

    Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11 As long as he doesn't show you his middle stump we're all winners :D Louis has said he intends on coming back, just all depends on what happens with work in the UK. It is very hard at the moment for anyone to get a job over there! We have contingency plans...

    Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11 We're after a coach (playing or non-playing). Just advertising the job to see who shows an interest. As for recruiting a 'gun' as you put it; I think our on-field set up is pretty handy. Obviously stepping up a rung now will test us some more but with a...

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11 Thomson Cricket Club We are currently seeking a senior playing or non-playing coach for the 2010/11 season. About The Club This season the club will be participating in Division 1 of the Geelong Cricket Association, having recently been promoted from...

Australian T20I XI - Selection Thread

Re: Australian T20I XI - Selection Thread 100% Agree. Even when on-song I cannot see a place for him in the side, even just as a pure captain. Cameron White/Brad Haddin/Mike Hussey could do the same job as Clarke in regards to Captaining and are more worthy of selection in the side in...

    Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11 We had 2 Assistants and a Coach last season, seemed to work alright so I don't see it being a problem. Have heard South Barwon have been actively speaking to players since the season finished, have you secured any for next year Cheer_Cheer? Another...

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11 Thomson still haven't appointed anyone. Another whisper is Nathan Bisset to Alexander Thomson as Assistant Coach.

    Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11 5 Figures is a bit extreme but I did hear he had 6,000 reasons to go there. Halbish I believe trained at South Barwon last season so that would make sense if they were after him. If Cox went to Waurn Ponds that would be the ultimate 'LOL'

    Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 09/10 Maybe they are going to ShelFORD? :D But on a serious note, bit wierd to leave a club after only one season. Matt Slater, Torquay, is on board at Thomson for next season if he gets a clearance.

    Geelong Cricket Chat 09/10

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 09/10 It shouldn't in terms of contractually as Gareth Cross (a Ryder Medalist), who has a full Lancashire contract, played for St Kilda in the VCA. Squad members played all over NZ, Aus and SAfrica last summer so I can't see it being a problem.

World ODI team of the decade

Re: World ODI team of the decade Michael Bevan was a gun, could time a run chase to a tee. Well in front of Hussey in my personal opinion. Side Note: thoughts on my new signature?

Sledging.. How far is too far?????

Re: Sledging.. How far is too far????? I disagree wholeheartedly. You get bad decisions all the time so when you get one go your favour you don't walk. It may be something a footballer would say/do but I could argue that 'walking' is what 'park' cricketers do. The 'spirit of cricket' is...

Border- From Ltd's Ponting love fest thread....

Re: Border- From Ltd's Ponting love fest thread.... I'm not doubting Pontings ability you muppet. I'm saying that Border easily had the tougher of the decades bowling wise. Your 10 second list was/is nowhere near the list of courtjesters. Border wasn't as dogged or as battler-esque as you...
