Re: Western Suburbs Churches Cricket Association
I would have been nothing but a sideline supporter, but this is an absolute disappointment. I don't know how this can sit well with any person, club or member of the executive. The easy and convenient decision has been made - the wrong one has...
Re: Western Suburbs Churches Cricket Association
Ah, my mistake then. I'm only making a judgement call from what I've read here (very silly, I know), in which there seems to be a suggestion that the decision was made in a vacuum without any real consultation process.
Hopefully Mick Callus'...

Oh, I agree entirely on that point: It all comes down to whether they can put their egos aside and admit fault. It would be sad if they can't. They have a perfect opportunity to show that the association exec. is strong enough to admit fault, and...

Disagree completely.
Not only is it in Crickets best interests for the decision to be reversed, but it is also in the Associations best interests for it to be reversed. Having the humility to acknowledge that their initial decision was...

Re: Western Suburbs Churches Cricket Association
So was it just the wickets at Angliss, or also the wicket at St. Pauls?
It's hard to believe that any person, from any of the four clubs, could be so desperate to make it through that they would resort to vandalism. I almost hope that it was...

Re: Western Suburbs Churches Cricket Association
Don't trot out that "not having adequate represtation" myth: Of the eight that sat on committee last year, five had direct links to senior cricket. One of those five also had a link to junior cricket. This was despite a 3:1 ratio junior members...

Thank you for your comments Rob. Since you've chosen an open forum to air your feelings, it would be remiss of me not to respond.

Anyway, to the action of the week... Congrats to Hayes and Hulett. Pity that in all that run making they couldn't eek out...

Re: Western Suburbs Churches Cricket Association
You're right- don't have a whole lot of experience on turf, which is why I was asking for first hand accounts. I know the Roosters 2 boys were complaining about it, and on that day there weren't many runs at all scored on the deck. On the weekend...

Re: Western Suburbs Churches Cricket Association
well... no real surprises at all. congrats to all the winning sides. gotta say though, I know there's been a lot of bitching about the deer park wicket, which has again come up in the match review, but at the end of the day, over 300 runs were...

Considering the round will inevitably be cut down to one day matches because of the nice and mild prediction of 43 degree weather, there may be some interesting results...
St. Andrews over Roosters - I actually think the roosters may have been...
