Re: Manee's Season 2008
Saturday League Game
I had a 3rd XI game yesterday, which we won by 19 runs on a joke of a pitch. We scored 97 (thanks to a crucial 1 by me:p) and I took 4-2-12-1 in our defence of that total. I felt that I bowled okay, but still could not get closer to the stumps, no...

Club net session
I had a club net session yesterday evening. I did not bat and whilst bowling, I looked to work on my new load up and getting closer to the stumps. The new load up changed throughout the session but eventually fixed on an action which I was happy with...
Re: Bowling Video
Nothing majorly wrong, tbh. Probably pump your arms more in the run up and have more power in your legs in the run up. You close off your front foot a tad from the action, which probably costs you post and means that you are an outswing bowler(?).
Re: Playing swing bowling
I'm not a batsman, but those who play my swing best are those who either can wait until the ball is under their nose or those who look to play a shot regardless of the swing and swing through the line whilst getting forward.

First wicket, finally
I had an U16 game today and although it is too soon to attempt to incorperate the other changes, I used a different load up today and it worked well. I got my trademark outswing from left arm over the wicket and picked up 4-1-5-1 with one that held...

Starting to get to grips with the changes
Slight update. I have been working at some of the changes which were suggested to me in the assessment by going through a modified action off a walking pace, with no ball. I have been practicing dragging my back foot along the...

Ian Pont analysis
I was rather cautious, upon opening my analysis from Ian Pont. However, any doubts I had were dismantled by what was a very comprehensive, concise and focused analysis. It is a five page document and the main points are as follows:
I have a safe, solid...
Re: The SLOB
You have to hold it with the regular positioning of the fingers but without the thumb on it. It is quite difficult to keep in the hand, and means you have to hold the ball further in the hand and aim to pitch the ball as a high full toss. I recommend delivering the ball from...
The SLOB
On Mavericks Cricket, I read about this delivery, nicknamed the SLOB. It is said to be the world's best slower ball and so I gave it a bit of a try.
It is an extremely difficult ball to control, but it does 'drop like a stone' as advertised.
What are your experiences with trying...

www.harrowdrive.com, before Dave rips your head off.
Basically, the message of this site and harrowdrive.com is training to get stronger but not bigger. An example of the sort of stuff on Harrowdrive is to train with low reps with heavy weights but read the site...
