I'm not too sure what it is like for other leg spinners on here but the short catch on the offside for me tends to go behind the wicket. The catches that do go through silly point are also normally far harder than the ones that go off the inside edge on to the leg side.
You can see from Mushtaq...
Hadlee is probably the ultimate example of sacrificing pace for accuracy, although he originally did it so he could get through the then heavy county cricket workload.
In NZ there are guys who also naturally have pace but as per where you're from they are never as successful as the slower guys...
At the end of the day the really fast bowlers (those that bowl consistently above 140) were born with the fast twitch fibers that give them the potential to bowl fast and/or throw a ball a long way. The rest is hard work and, as Chino#21 has highlighted, good fundamentals in the bowling action...
250+ would make it interesting but I'd say 300 might put some uncertainty in SL as to whether defence or attack is the best option. 300 would need Williamson and Watling to pit on another 100 and then the tailenders to middle a lot.
Just looked up his profile, 23yo and 35 FC games with 2,300 runs at an average of 41. They may have to get him in sooner rather than later before FC cricket stagnates his development.
Actually they may be looking at Brownlie as well, forgot he was in the squad.
If NZ is looking to the future Michael Bracewell might be worth a shot, otherwise we are back to Guptill. Unfortunately they are going to give Rutherford another go, he has to be dropped until he starts to get his footwork and shot selection right but they love him for some reason.
I'm glad you used the old ' ' around heavy air because it may feel like that but it definitely isn't:

A perfect 90 degree seam will drift when the ball starts to drop. The delivery in your picture will start to drift (with enough spin) as soon as it leaves your fingertips and get even more drift when it starts to drop.
Woolmer's experts are right in that a 90 degree seam delivery will not drift...
If only.
I recommend his book, really puts his heart and opinions out there...as opposed to one recent release about another cricketer which is as bland as you'll ever get.
Yes they are completely useless, more a bit of fun in the nets although. Bowling it out the top of the hand can have its moments and is something I have bowled in a game when nothing is working.
I agree with you about the hybrid delivery being out there as I've seen it as well.
Depends which way you've released the flying saucer (hopefully I've remember typed his the right way round).
For me if I bowl the flying saucer 'under' my hand with a leg break twist (bowled as a laugh in the nets sometimes) it will drift out straight away, therefore if you get it between that...
