Suspect without any knowledge that 3s & 4s will be off, and 1s & 2s report to grounds. Depends on weather conditions for the rest of the day, and tomorrow morning however.
Fixtures are completed, but won't be released until Hoppers Crossing are formally announced and approved by CV.
I can confirm round 1 will commence with a two-day fixture (for 1st & 2nd XI only) on Sunday 4th October, to commence on Saturday, 10th October. 3rd & 4th XI will begin with one-day...
My understanding is that CV were involved through the process of selecting Hoppers as the most likely replacement for Kingston, so the counter view above does not ring true.
That was announced last night. Hoppers have been provisionally approved by the delegates to enter the VSDCA from this season. Cricket Victoria need to provide their stamp of approval.

Basically yes, I think it would dramatically change the culture of a competition which has operated essentially under the same conditions for the best part of 100+ years. Local footy often has every player paid, even if only a nominal amount, I prefer the clear dilineation between paid and...
Each of the 28 clubs may have one paid professional, and one paid development coach. These need to be signed off by the Subbies executive each season. As far as overseas players goes its a little more complicated, as it depends on the levele the player played and his country of origin.

Of course, apologies to Liam and Balwyn. No one taking votes off any of the top 3 for mine, was surprised Jones didn't poll better, I had him wiht 6 best on's, he tended to bat and bowl well in the same game. Similar to Ayres. Johnstone had good performances around him when he had good games...
Holten Medal tonight, I've done a form guide of all the main contenders and come up with the following result:
Issy Perera - Noble 21
Liam Murphy - Kew 21
Spike Pinwill - Oakleigh 20
Michael Jones - Malvern 18
Sean Ayres - Plenty 15
Mitch Johnstone - Roxburgh 15
Slight adjustment to the details surrounding the selection of the TOTY, my apologies.
Group XII's will be announced, but not until Hatch Dinner night, these will be presented just prior to the selection of the official VSDCA XII for 2014/15.
In the meantime a squad of 24 has been publically...
Friday, 8th May at the RACV club. Subbies announced last night that a best XII for each of the four groups will be announced prior to the Hatch dinner, from which the final Team of the Year will be selected.
Some good recognition for a wider number of players I think.
