Good call YWL, has had a lot of success at Coburg as well, and is often the driving force behind that. Has also recently become a selector of the TOTY and Rep side, another string to his bow and illustrates the esteem he is held in around the competition.
Completely understood you SS, and apologies for the flippant response. I was trying to illustrate that what if somebody passed away or was seriously injured when the heat was much lower than what most would consider excessive? Where do we draw the line?
I am as concerned for players well being...
There has only been one instance of play being cancelled due to hot weather, that being back on 'Black Saturday - Feb 2009, when temperatures topped 48 degrees (incidentally Moorabbin played an intra-club match this day).
I would expect that should an extreme temperature day such as a forecast...
It's been a great start to the season, but very rarely is the premiership flag awarded in November. We've had a good start, but several other clubs also look very good, Werribee chief amongst them. And I would never discount Melton, despite a massive personnel change in the off season. Bayswater...
Agree 100%, after watching his amazing innings in the group final last year, I can't for the life of me work out how he doesn't ton up every time he goes out to bat.
The process for new rule introductions is as follows:
* Clubs given the opportunity to propose
* Rule revision committee given opportunity to propose
* Rule revision committee meet to discuss club generated and own rule revisions. Make recommendations on all rules raised.
* These...
Keep it nice guys. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, however if you feel you cannot respond without getting personal, then best not to at all.
Mark, good luck in your new role. However, I feel there was asome good advice for you earlier, to just concetrate on promoting the club! If you...
Malvern will finish higher than the three teams listed directly above them, Kingston should be in the mid tier/finals mix.
Brighton could surprise if they promote from their super strong second XI, any word on Caulfield recruits?
Apologies for the low resolution, but you should all be able to read these.
A few interesting points to note:
* No T20 fixtured in Pennant competition
* T20 Semi Finals & Final fixtured on the same day, will also coincide wiht VSDCA 200 Club function on Sunday, February 9th.
* Kingston...
Sorry FASTFARNEE, probably a little misleading by me above. What I meant was that over the past few years the 4th XI fixture has evolved to include more split rounds with 2 one dayers fixtured rather than two-day games, and also with the 3rd & 4th XI's always playing in the S/E and N/W groups...
Normally by August Herbert. A lot of work in ensuring the fixture is as fair as possible as I'm sure you can understand. The changes in 3rd & 4th XI's the major obstacles.
To be fair to those who select this award, it is not as if Tim O'Brien did not have a stellar year. 739 runs, 2 centuries, a 98 and 3 other 50's, along with 24 wickets. Probably unlucky not to poll some more Hatch votes, actually had more competition in his team than Allen for votes in 12/13...
The VSDCA has recognised the following 20 players for their outstanding seasons. The final 12 man Team of the Year announced on Hatch Medal Night will come from the following list of players:
M.ALLEN (Melton), K.BARKER (Brunswick), R.DAMIANO (Caulfield), S.DEAN (Werribee), F.GILL (Kew)...
The strong 20 man Team of the Year squad has been announced, I'll see if I can track down a copy to post here. From this 20 man squad the official twelve man side will be selected. As per previous years, a competition will be held and the winning club announced on Hatch Medal Night.
