G'day Guys,
If you could encourage your club to submit their entries for this ASAP, would be appreciated. So far have only received a handful, really want all 28 clubs to enter. The prize of 6 Kookas at $420 odd RRP is certainly worthwhile to the club that wins it!
Thanks
B&G
The VSDCA Selection Panel have announced the following 23 players from which the 2011/12 Team of the Year will be named.
Each club will have the opportunity to submit one entry attempting to match the selectors final XII in batting order, plus naming a captain. Team and winning club will be...

Hi Guys,
There is a thread solely for coaching advertisements, can we keep all requests in there rather than clogging up the discussions? I'm sure anyone interested will look there first anyway.
For comparison I reckon this will be Gill's votes:
Rd. 5 v Yarr (3 votes)
Rd 6. v Werr (3 votes)
Rd 8. v Bruns (3 votes)
Rd 9. v Pres (2 votes)
Rd 10. v Melt (Possible 1 vote)
Rd 11. v Will (3 votes)
Rd 12. v PV (3 votes)
Giving him 17 or 18 votes. Will be right in the mix if the umpires agree.
Had a really good year Sylvester, out of interest I had a quick look through the scorecards and reckon he will poll as follows:
Rd 3 v Bal (Poss 1)
Rd 4. v Ivan (Poss 1)
Rd 5. v Alt (Poss 1)
Rd 7. v Cob (Certain 3)
Rd 10. v Suns (Certain 3)
Rd 11. v Yarr (Probable 1)
Which gives him a ball...
Stay tuned a 26 man squad which the 20111/12 Team of the Year will be announced very shortly, and again clubs will have an opportunity to submit an entry in batting order with Captain named to win some great prizes at the HATCH Medal dinner.
The HATCH Medal itself will almost certainly be a...
It's on the agenda Westland.
There are a number of important issues that need to be resolved prior to a successful return. In no particular order:
A. A club(s) willing to host the match without the prospect of a significant financial gain.
B. Squeezing a 4th Final into a packed end of season...
Looks like we didn't give Kew enough credit, still a long, long way to go, but the bookmakers are scurrying around to find an eraser.
Pre match odds:
Melton $1.12 vs Kew $5.00
Day 2 odds:
Melton $1.95 vs Kew $1.85
Pennant Rules strictly enforce identical conditions for Saturday & Sunday fixtures in finals (weather permitting obviously). Any breach or suspected breach would be investigated to the fullest extent by the executive. No chance a club would risk a flag for a marginal advantage.
Just perusing some season statistics, Melton have an incredible 6 players with 17 or more wickets for the season, unbelievable depth. While Kew have Gill (40) & Waterman (35), their next best is only on 12.
From these figures alone it would take an incredible batting performance for Kew to set a...
Re: Umpires Appointments.
Yes, Chris is the umpire's advisor, but he does not sit on the selection or appointment committee. Through ill health and misfortune Chris has been forced to umpire more matches than expected this season. Based solely on umpire's reports completed by First XI captains...
I don't think hosting it was an issue, I'm sure there were plenty of clubs who would love the cash injection. The biggest issue from our club's point of view is that it is not the culmination of the season, the group final is.
We play 13 other teams and if we beat them all we deserve to be...
How about the fact that the VSDCA official who updates the website, who essentially works a second FT job as a volunteer is taking a well earned holiday. I'm sure it will be updated in the next 24 hours.
For those not on Twitter where the VSDCA had scores updated as soon as the matches were...
Ha, probably a fair comment based on results, but I can guarantee it is all Pinwill. As a fellow bowler at the club, I love away games. Warrawee is and has always been a very batsman friendly deck.
