Re: Stanford!
Comprehensively outplayed in every department really! One thing I thought was amazing was how every 6 England attempted found a fielder - while every shot into the air by the SS (:)) went near nobody! The only thing I could think of was that England were fielding to stop...
Re: Virender's Blog-2008
It's the festival of lights I think. In the place I work they have a special dinner of indian food followed by traditional Indian sweets. Virender, can you explain what the purpose of the festival is please?
Re: Stanford 20/20 for 20: Stanford Superstars vs England at Antigua
It's not all bad - a quarter mill for doing nothing if they win. And no chance of being blamed if they lose. I'm sure he'd still prefer to be playing though - I'll bet the other players won't be taking any food from him for...
Re: Intercontinental Cup 2007-8
Stumps on day 2 - Ireland were bowled out for 195, 55 runs short of the 1st innings target - but they've had an almost ideal start to the 2nd innings, striking twice in the first 9 overs to leave the score on 14. Shaping up for an interesting few days - mini...
Re: Intercontinental Cup 2007-8
I hope I don't jinx it, but there has been a fantastic comeback by Johnston and Cusack. After the score being 37 for 5, they've managed to get things moving to 170/5. 31 overs left in the day now, 80 runs would see the scores level.
Re: Stanford 20/20 for 20: Stanford Superstars vs England at Antigua
You never know, maybe the PPV channels will only be interested in the 20-20 games in future and the longer forms will become available for terrestrial channels? Some good may come of administrative greed :D
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling
That's certainly one way of doing it. IMO spin bowling is all about deception, so you can lure the batsman into thinking it will spin big and then change it; or the opposite - whatever you're comfortable doing, as long as it works.
JRod on CWB had a good post on the...
Been "Knocked for Six"?
Cheers lads :D Starting a coaching course tomorrow, so I might as well post this non-training related post now ;)
I've made no secret of the fact that the Irish as a people don't really "get" cricket for the most part. I think this is changing though, as the...
Re: Intercontinental Cup 2007-8
Argh, don't bother - that rout I was predicting .... came an innings too late :(
Namibia posted 250 and now have us at 46 for 5. >:\
Re: Intercontinental Cup 2007-8
The final is on at the moment, Ireland v Namibia. 35 overs into the first day and Namibia are 82 for 3. Seems fairly finely balanced for the time being.
EDIT: Spoke too soon, 82 for 4 now.
Re: My cricket stats!

Re: Knicking the Ball
I agree with breeno, could be a concentration thing. If it's technique then you probably would have seen this issue cropping up before. Did you ever have trouble getting caught behind in u-17s? Maybe it's just the case that the bowling is faster/better at c grade and it...
Re: Edladd's Blog
Wierd, maybe it's because I've mentioned a few times that I didn't play much sport before cricket? That's the best thing about an over-active metabolism :D I'm well informed that I won't be able to rely on it for much longer though :s
Re: gundalf's cricket blog
You've certainly been busy considering it's off-season. Glad to hear that the leg-break is coming back. Sometimes it is the best option to take a break if your action isn't working properly, it lets your brain "reset" back to what feels natural. Can be frustrating...
