To be fair, Forsyth did prove himself in Premier Cricket, he made 880 runs as an U/19. He may not have had a great District year in 2009/10, but he did get multiple scores in the Futures League. The wisdom of giving him a two year contract is very questionable though.
He reminds me a lot of...
Yeah, CV has no room to move this year with their contracts. They'd committed to signing up Gilmour, Forsyth had a two year contact, plus losing cash to the BBL.
Don't have my ear close to the ground at the moment, but be interesting to see what happens with the players who are over here for...
Supposedly North Melbourne do have a bit of coin on them. Were supporting the points system, as they saw it as a way that they could spend their way back to some sort of strength.
I know that Topp was pretty close to moving to Camberwell last year and that a few Ringwood senior players aren't enamoured with him. As already mentioned, Camberwell are in a bit of a tangle with the point system, so I don't know whether he'll end up there.
Crosier's played a couple of games...
I heard that Tormey has been speaking to Richmond, Northcote and Camberwell. Also heard that he'd been offered $20K in local cricket. Overtures have been made from the Junction Oval to Jeremy Hart, but I doubt anything will come of it.
The new system will supposedly allow them to pay players, because there are no restrictions on paying players. I heard that they voted in favour of it, and that was a major reason.
Camberwell and Casey the teams with the biggest issues, but will probably be solved by not getting any English players back this coming year. Both teams probably need them for their batting. Maybe Prahran as well, but really they'll be OK now I think, Rogers hardly plays for them anyway.
Those...
Melbourne Uni and Footscray have lost their Poms. Know that the Students did it by choice, and big Wayne White is back playing in the suburban comps in Melbourne.
Unluckiest player of the year has to be Benbow from Frankston, keeps on taking wickets every time Dutchy isn't playing but has to...
I'm not saying that Dale will be off for sure next year, but I do know that he's been sounding out some clubs. Maybe the Hawks will (should) strike some sort of deal allowing him to be their paid player once they are allowed one again, because there could well be a few clubs prepared to take him...
Word is?
Richmond ARE relocating to Central Reserve. Been talk about what the name will be, with Waverley Tigers a likely option. The redevelopment of the facility will occur on the top oval, which will eventually be the 1sts/2nds ground, leaving the current main oval to be one of the better...
Carlton at one of the best country pitches around, against the Kangas. Gulbis with three hundreds in the country in the last four years; reckon you'd back him in to make it four against the Kanga attack.
Big games between Melbourne and Prahran, with Prahran leading the club T20 championship...
