Wouldn't mind seeing the VSDCA audit Brunswick here, recruiting big name after big name just mounts even more pressure on a playing group that has not made a final in god knows how long, silly move and a waste of money.
My sources tell me that Turner will be made Captain of RECC should Burton not accept the position again.
Given that Burton is based in Bayside Melbourne, the chances of him returning to RECC would be 50-50 at best.
I think that someone like Rummans is worthy of that.
Guys like him who are clearly a cut above the level improve the group ten fold, while he may not be pumping out numbers like Thorne, attracting someone like Rummans probably keeps Cross, Warren, Graf and King at the club because they know...
Jaensch no Ayres no, Jaensch got a job through the club and apparently Ayres gets his taxes and book keeping done for nothing from a sponsor.
Brunswick.
Mayne McKay Murphy Brennan Fort plus overseas player.. comfortably over 30k Murphy had his hand out big time to go to the wicks.
Kew
Graham...
Brunswick Kew and Caulfield clearly more than anyone in the comp.. PV, Williamstown and Yarraville not far behind.
Brunswick Kew and Caulfield would well and truly be over 50k
Pretty unlikely I’d have thought, FD will retain him in some form of coaching/consulting role where he isn’t locked into set hours and days, young family and a very busy work life starting to take over.
I certainly think so, looking at the club championship standings each season there is a clear trend, teams up the top of it are the ones with the big cheque books (probably minus Oakleigh who do not generally pay large sums) the ones at the foot of the table don’t have 2 cents to rub together.
Even if he bowled sparingly, his batting would be extremely useful, comfortably 400 runs plus a season i’d think. A few pay cuts would need to be taken to get him over the line
Hastings is a friend of Chris Weeks and Mick Kellihier, considering the amount of money Kew are currently paying their players it would be highly unlikely that they’d be able to afford him.
