See PV have opened up the wallet to try and paper over some cracks. Not sure that they have a homegrown player in Absolutely, I don't think they will be a top 4 contender. 6 out from last years team. Kew and Brunswick to take over from them as the teams to beat in the North

    Player Movements & Rumours 2016/17

Back to player movements, Riverside keeping a similar book, Macleod? Diamond Creek found a cap/coach yet? NEW replaced Duckworth? St Francis? Anyone else?

Exactly right, they will employ full time administrators to run these leagues as well.

    Player Movements & Rumours 2016/17

The draft that I have seen shows PV playing against the Eastern teams such as Bayswater Croydon Kew etc. There will be tiers in these comps, e.g. Premier, 1st div 2nd div etc so it will be strong cricket. There is going to be a Southern, Eastern, Western and North turf league, how that looks...

    Player Movements & Rumours 2016/17

They'll be put into the turf region system. Depending on what the league is like and how far travel is will dictate whether blokes hang around I'd suggest.

Subbies will attempt to stand alone, the wealthy clubs will survive and the rest won't.. give subbies 2-3 seasons before it's stumps

A good game of subbies 1's is just on par with premier 2's, I have played both so that is speaking from personal experience, middle of the road teams and lower teams are not at premier 2's standard at all. Not at all knocking the standard of subbies but I just don't think it's as strong as...

correct, subbies is no different to any other suburban turf cricket 1st grade.. not sure why some have inflated opinions of it.. SUB meaning inferior to district cricket.. so on the same level as other suburban turf 1's?!

The fact is CV view subbies as a nothing competition that does not assist them in identifying or producing young talent. Each year handouts from them have become less and less to the point where they will stop coming. Subbies will be dead within 2 seasons

    2016/2017 Barclay Shield

Fair point, although they have had great success across the club in terms of flags last season so you'd think those paid players are playing some role in helping develop the younger blokes at the club who will be he next gen of players... but at the same time, clubs are ultimately judged by...

Agreed, dead comp dominated by the same teams each year. Only still in existence because uncle jack doesn't want to see his beloved Caulfield in any other competition, dinosaurs running the VSDCA.
