Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 09/10
I by no means set the world alight when I bat, but I can say that batting on our pitch has made me a better batsman. It's taught to make sure I watch the ball as closely as possible for as long as possible and I have to say, I haven't been out on it as a...
Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 09/10
Wear a helmet like 90% of cricketers do and you won't need to worry about having your face caved in.
I've played 4 games there this year and I train on it twice a week - In that time, I've seen maybe 2 blokes lose a wicket because of the pitch. So, even...
Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 09/10
Have to agree with that.
I'm playing at Eltham this week and their's was as close as I've come to what we dish up at home.
It might sound stupid, but we sat down one night and made a stand against blokes just bringing a packet of shapes or a tray of...
Re: DVCA Barclay Reserve
I know every side has had a bad day here and there...
But a score of 32 is something you wouldn't have seen from the Diamond Creek of seasons 06/07, 07/08 and 08/09!
Their golden run couldn't last forever, but is it too early to declare that the wheels have...
Re: DVCA Barclay Reserve
It's hard to really take stock yet. Two one day games gave lesser sides a chance to push for points they otherwise might not have taken and with only 1 two-day game played to a result, the log-jam from spots 1 to 7 makes for a very interesting round this week...
Re: DVCA Barclay Reserve
On an absolute dustbowl.
Any sides worth its weight will make 375+ on that ground this year.
Especially if it stays in the state it's in now!
Re: DVCA - C grade and below
Just a friend of a friend.
It may have sounded a bit harsh, but there was nothing i what I said before.
How bad's the knee?
Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 09/10
And again...
Could not have said this better myself.
It's a pity he gave the game away when he did though, would have been nice to see him play against the likes of Minney, Love, Gibbs, etc.
You'd have to say he'd have held his own in Barclay Shield.
Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 09/10
Ian Chesterton had a handy year last year, capped off with 10 wickets in the semi to get them in...
I understand that Baker is Mernda's best, by an absolute street probably, and that every club has their best player, with the exception of 1, 2 or maybe 3...
Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 09/10
You're probabaly one of the more qualified blokes to talk about Baker being the only thing Mernda have - being that you're own club is very much a one man club, probably even more so.
If Minney doesn't play Eltham don't win, and even when he does play and has...
