    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Btw here is the live stream from my game on sunday: Lately I have been bowling alright, but still have the 1-2 balls per over that let me down, so I usually take myself out of the attack pretty quickly. Do you guys see anything troublesome in my action that is causing drag downs/full tosses or...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Nice, yeah I would be that guy that tries to cut you - my main strategy is to play spinners off the back foot. I need to develop either a sweep shot or using the feet because if it's not short, I can't hit good spinners. So yeah, that scrambled seam ball would probably get me.

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Yeah I watch the sheffield shield regularly, but no I haven't seen any of Hamish McKenzie. I'll have to tune into NSW's second innings in the match today.

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

To be honest, I don't think I did much different to what I did when I got smashed, but I think the difference was they were 2/50 and pretty defensive, whereas the others were 0/80 and looking to smash everything.

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Bowled alright today, the pitch was an absolute minefield, but only when the quicks were bowling. Despite that, the two first graders were building up a good partnership, at 2/50 when I came on. I bowled a maiden first over, nice and tight, all balls landed in the right area and they respected...

Damn, at least the pitch will be good. Good luck mate. I don't understand how the temperature can drop that much from day to day, lol, and still have the same minimum temp.

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Maybe it's a case of going to the wrong'un and slider if they're coming out well on the weekend, when I face the first grade batsmen? That is if the leg spinners aren't working.

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

They are usually in 4th and 5th grade, though they are very respected, some of the best fielders in the club actually. Don't bowl, but they are good old school batsmen.

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

My wrong un is probably my best weapon, although it can come out wrong 40% of the time. For some reason it bounces like a tennis ball and turns a mile, batsmen are so surprised by it. Otherwise it would be my topspinner, but at the moment my toppie is coming out with sidespin as well so it...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

For sure, I have started keeping a record on all the batters I've faced, and how I bowled against them in game - what worked and what didn't. slowly building it up now, hasn't come in handy yet but it will once we play them the second time. Its also good to see patterns in how you bowl, what...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Hmm yes, I usually alternate a few times in a match - if i'm bowling to a leftie and I can't get him out from around the wicket, I go over the wicket. I reckon that going around the wicket is more for show, like to try and get the dream wickets, cover drive through the gate sorta thing. Overall...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Yeah, that's the exact vibe I'm trying to create as a captain, but it's hard to do. For example, on the weekend the other side were warming up from the get go, blasting music, laughing around etc. Then there's just us chatting in small groups until just before the toss happens we're like 'we...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Yeah, that's all very good advice, and very true. Hardly any spinners in adult cricket teams at my club, so when I join up I reckon I will be put up the grades a bit as they need a spinner. I can't see myself giving up the art, I love it too much to be honest. I certainly agree with the point of...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

What makes me even more frustrated and confused is that I bowled a ball in my second over, started on the off stump, turned and bounced viciously, the batsman defended and missed. After that ball, the non striker came down to chat to him and I heard him say, "he's good, turning it alot. Watch...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

That's a good point, because on the weekend we had a left arm orthodox bowler bowling to the same batsmen. This spinner doesn't get any revs on the ball, just bowls darts, and he was even bowling the odd short ball, which if I had bowled they would have pulled it for six, but instead to this...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Thanks for all your thoughts guys. Next Sunday I'm up against two first grade batsmen once again, so right now here's what I'm going to look to change so this time I will hopefully be able to get them out - or at least not get hit around so easily. I figured that in yesterdays game I was...
