Stop guessing amounts brutal. Macleod have not ever paid that amount to any player/or coach for that matter.
Sounds to me that somebody told Research an amount , albeit an imaginary $$$, to drive up his own cost at the time. Kudos to him.
Well it is a long way to go. If you are in Bundoora and drive 20 minutes up Plenty Road, well, you are still in Bundoora !! The road is shizen. Yan Yean Road same.
In fairness to our ordinary form post Xmas, we had a few injuries ( Johnson out 2 games, t wise couldn't bowl much, o'leary out 2 matches , and lynch for a couple as well). When your cream is not there, the results are always going to suffer. Lucky they were all available and fit for finals.
All clubs in the DVCA were aware of the 3 shields a year in advance. The clubs who got relegated werent unlucky as you suggest. They just werent as good as the other sides in their respective grades.
Just on gibbsy, I noticed he only bowled a few overs for the entire season. I know riverside have an abundance of bowlers, but was he not available to bowl ?
Gibbsy possible retirement - can you confirm Tongs ?
Don't think Rossbrook will continue .
If Salm and Austin leave , on top of occa, that should free up some salary cap space.....
Would be fair to say they were a tad excited at 3/9. They got rid of Lynch on the back of a half arsed appeal. In fact after that, they couldn't resist and appealed for absolutely everything. It was bordering on ridiculous.
Secondly, if what I'm hearing is true, they refused to go back out...
No offence but if you have played in finals in 12 of the past 15 years, and won 2 grand finals ( albeit in lower grades) , why are they languishing in Mash shield ?
Well they are at their lowest ebb in the club's history. Both money and D grade sides finished bottom. They seem to have a few junior sides although which might be worth preservering with. I'm sure Steve ferry won't go down without a fight.
Still don't reckon you change the winning side from the weekend. Im not privy as to what happens at selection but I doubt anything will change ( barring injuries touch wood )
Diamond creek were probably favourites to beat Macleod but not as easily as you all made out. In the end , the ledger was Macleod 2, creek 1. Yeah , they touched us up a few rounds back with us having some personnel missing, but you overlook the result earlier in the season which saw us win...
As nice as that sounds, riverside knocked up 250 against us a few weeks back. Their batting isn't as brittle as some make out to be. Their openers have been in good form
