Agreed.....we have an elected DVCA committee and they were not fully represented at the NCL meeting the other night. Why? Because they were not invited. Why? Because they do not all agree with what is going on here. The DVCA Clubs and executive members have been treated with contempt by the DVCA...
LOL.....your source failed to mention that Steve Gleeson was with me also at Panther Place on Friday night and Saturday Arvo.
Not sure the ECC need old timers like us but we certainly enjoy the footy down there.
As mentioned previously I hope to be playing Twos next season which will be in Money Shield. So you better hope your Ones can beat our Twos in Money Shield. Had a poor season with the bat last season, perhaps age catching up with me or just a poor season. Either way I am very keen to make a menz.
I suppose that all depends upon you getting a game in your Ones next season. I hear Eltham have picked up some handy players for next season and no walk up starts anymore.
Ellksy has no beef with you Tongs.
Ancient history, water under the bridge.
Seeing as he is playing Money Shield next season he may just have that beer with you, if you behave yourself. Lol
You do not know the DVCA, the clubs, the brand of cricket, the local councils, the local history or the characteristics of the competition. You are making an observation from afar. If you feel the Jika Comp or HDCA would benefit from such a merge I urge you to go to their forums also to share...
Obviously you do not have any association with the DVCA, we are not a "boutique comp" for starters. Who cares about the ECA, what is your interest on this matter anyway? Who are you representing here? Cricket Victoria? The Good of the Game?
This is not about change....change comes about when...
Its time for the DVCA Club Presidents to get together and discuss this openly together. The lack of clear communication on this whole process is a worry. I hear there is even a lack of understanding of the process forward at the executive level which is a real worry.
If all the clubs get...
100% Bull....this time you are 100% correct!
There is no obvious benefit to the DVCA if this merge was to take place. The DVCA is a well organised & well run organisation which has a proud history for over 60 years. There is a reason the Diamond Valley is a strong competition and it is because...
Mark Minney is a champion bloke and a great servant of the Eltham CC. I personally think he will stay with Eltham CC as being chassed by other clubs for big $ is nothing new to Skips.
Whatever his choice may be, all I know is that he deserves the respect to play where he likes. He is a legend...
Good to see not much has changed on here.......very amusing. Spoke to Ellksy about all the comments being posted about him on big cricket about being too old etc etc and he just had one request - if people are going to talk about him just get the spelling of his last name right. Its "Ellks" with...
Great Post CowCorner.....I believe she has played Womens Cricket all her life and has a good knowledge of the game. The DVCA should be congratulated on such a move.
I couldnt agree more......It doesnt sound like Ellksy's now does it. Very uncharacteristic of him indeed. I will have to have a quiet word to him.
As for Whito......he's Bundoora's best opening bat. Get him opening in the one's for sure.
And you need to be more careful when pulling....:p
I am not Sure Paul Bohan plays Barclay Shield for Riverside. All a storm in a tea cup 100% Bull.....
Yeah Gibbo & Elliot batted very well, Eltham probably lacked a genuine quick bowler but they batted pretty well I thought.
How did you go on the weekend?
Guys lets not do this on here.....what happens on the field should stay on the field. From all accounts "Tongs" regrets what he said to Gibbo and so he should(Perhaps a personal apology could be in order). But Lets not all get to carried away here....
The umpires did a fair job at settling...
Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 2010/11
Isn't that calling the kettle black? There was no religious vilification of any sorts! Yet you continue to call me a racist by suggesting i would make mention to his race?? I think you should take not of your last line before posting.
Now to some...
Re: DVCA: Player movements and rumours
Perhaps it all comes back to years of the Bundoora Old Paradian CC poaching young talent from many DVCA clubs who have spent vast amounts of time and money in developing their own talent from within, unlike the BOP's who approach our young players, tell...
Re: DVCA: Player movements and rumours
Old Paradians CC (now Plenty Valley) promise young kids the world and often deliver very little for them. Going to Sub District Cricket is a sideways step. If a young fella in the DVCA is serious & good enough they would follow in the footsteps of...
