Lower will probably hang on to their MS spot, agree with Todd, Mill Park would be the favourite for the wooden spoon. There appears to be daylight between them and the rest of the field and with Greensborough already back where they belong in Mash, well I can't see it being anyone else.
So you're all actually supporting a policy that would punish players who had nothing to do with any infringement? So blokes in a sides 1's cause your teams 3rd's to miss finals because they lose 3 points despite having nothing to do with the 1's and you're actually ok with this?
Really? It's a...
That's hardly any better, actually it's worse and you're still punishing people who had nothing to do with the infringement. Geeze what is it with this love for collective punishment from you guys?
Not sure I like the new rule regarding 'Club Behavioural Policy'. If a club has 4 players in a season get a suspension, all senior teams at that club will lose 3 premiership points. Reminds me of dictatorial teachers at school who would give a whole class detention because one idiot kid threw a...
Have any clubs obtained funding on the back of promoting themselves as having women's teams? I really don't know. I have no issues with men's only organisations, or mixed, but if your club is anything like mine, the women are already involved. Wives, girlfriends, sisters and mothers are already...
I suspect many of the women's teams around have existed in some form or another for many years. Plenty Valley women's teams probably still have ex Bundoora United players going around, for example. As I said, unless there is a large influx of women into the DVCA, the few that do trickle in will...
Ha, you're hilarious, don't quit your day job. I've actually lost weight since coming out of hospital, so I'm pretty sure my medical problem wasn't helping the fitness levels at all. Anyways...
The problem is, a trickle of girls into the club is no good. A couple here, a couple there will just...
What's peoples thoughts on the strive for more girls in cricket within the DVCA? Despite my best efforts, 99% of girls coming through Blasters aren't interested in continuing into the team based game. Those that do, we ultimately lose them to sides with established women's teams. Without a huge...
So who's going to be the first person to walk out there without any protective equipment on bar a helmet, just to make a mockery of any potential rule about wearing one? You might laugh but I watched a bloke take off all his gear once and bat in C grade. I don't know why.
Epping splashing some cash? Henkel, Gardiner and Kulikowski off to there. Mernda look to be picking up a lot of players, although they are mostly probably juniors, still though, handy.
I should have also added, that all clubs are Incorporated associations and carry some form of injury insurance, the DVCA itself included (if they don't, they should). Incorporation protects directors in the event of legal action launched should a club player be injured ie; the player needs to...
I would class not wearing a helmet as coming under voluntary assumption of risk. If the DVCA or clubs are so worried about potential lawsuits resulting from an injury, have all players read and sign a statement basically asserting that they take the risk of death or injury taking to the ground...
It's nice when you do that. I took 17 off the first (think we had 4 to bat) a couple of seasons ago, was nice to walk out sitting on some runs the next week.
I reckon getting through a tough session like that at the end of the day none down can give you some good confidence going into the next week. It doesn't get any harder than that opening up. The way I read the reason for the rule change was that they are defining "hostile behaviour" as something...
