Eh, so I was wrong, not by much and still a chance that it will all be shut down again. Also, guess which finger I'm holding up to the screen right now...
I have to say I'm not that sad to see shining the ball with saliva be banned, always found it the most disgusting aspect of cricket. Although it is funny that it's banned because of corona, but no one ever cared about any other virus that can be spread by saliva, including HSV-1.
If you can buy from a cafe or take away from your local restaurant, I don't see why club canteens cannot open. There's little risk in selling a few beers, the same small risk you'd take buying your morning coffee. But like everything with the current bunch of muppets in charge of the state, it...
I think the 14th of November was thrown around as the start date, but it seems we won't be able to use the clubrooms at least initially. I don't really understand that rule to be honest, but will be happy to get back on the park.
I tried going through the "roadmap" but if I'm reading things correctly, we won't be able to actually play cricket because of the restriction on the number of people that can gather outdoors until late November when (if criteria are met), allows groups of up to 50. Frankly I think clubs might as...
It is a roadmap to nowhere, the triggers for lockdown laws to end and too keep it on topic, non contact outdoor sports to resume are so ridiculously low I don't think they are achievable and I think they're going to change. It's already been hinted at and now there are serious calls to end the...
It allows the Premier to make any regulation with regards to public order and safety. Thus curfews, limited gatherings and alike can be restricted without an act of Parliament.
Yeh...the back half of the season will (maybe) happen next year, you know, January - March 2021. Do try to keep up.
Extending the 'State of Emergency' allows the government to pretty much do whatever they like without being accountable to the Parliament. Without the SoE in place, past...
I think we will get something in next year, half a season or a couple of months maybe. Government already asking for 1 year extension to the state of emergency, they won't get that but they will probably get an extra 3 months until mid December.
Did you hear today though, the numbers being tested are dropping and if that happens then they are looking at extending the lock down.....but you are turned away from testing unless you have symptoms. More cases means an extension to restrictions. They are setting it up to get extended...
We're not getting a season in, unless they manage to eliminate the virus, as soon as restrictions get eased the cases will multiply again because there is no herd immunity out there. Unfortunately the government can't go back now, they threw everything at this lock down, it's not going to work...
Not a chance. With the 1 month extension to the lock down they will for sure have a couple of months at stage 3 which will be no more than a few people gathering. But on the other hand we could probably get a full season in next year in a couple of months because by that time no one will have a...
I think we do need to worry about it. You're not going to eliminate this thing now, it's out there. They can blame "family groups" all they want, but someone outside of that is introducing it into these groups, those carriers remain unknown. Thus this virus will tick along with a few cases each...
