I have just noticed that Port Melbourne and Clayton District have both dropped out of Division 1, replaced by Parkdale (promoted as premiers) and Old Mentonians, who didn't have a 2-day team last year, and now find themselves in Div 1. I thought promotion/relegation was 1 team up and down...

However the stone wall on the South Caulfield outer ground seemed to be exempt, which I found surprising.

Which happens to be the same as that used in the new CSB comp last season. Coincidence?

Interesting to read on the Subbies thread that King is returning to Caulfield from Bentleigh. He will be missed.

I also note that there is a Round 15 showing in My Cricket, a replay of round 2, dated Sun 22 January. Does this mean that the round will be replayed, but the existing runs and wickets (percentage) from the round 2 washout will be retained?

I note that the points for round 2 have been set to zero instead of 3, which is a hint, I guess. I too hope that this idea doesn't get up.

Pretty bizarre. I just assumed that the council had not prepared a wicket because they had the 3rd and 4th XI fixtures for that ground, and there was no such game scheduled. I also assumed that's the reason behind the same scenario at Namitjira in Division 4. It would be interesting to know the...

Regarding the playing dates, I am also curious about the rounds 8 & 9 T20 games. The example shows two games at South Caulfield, and it makes sense to play this round at a venue like that as there are two adjacent grounds. But very few clubs have that luxury. McKinnon, Bonbeach Tangy, maybe...

That does sound a bit odd, but it seems as though they have taken a very simplistic view of the grading - although I have only seen the provisional teams in the top grade, from some time ago, so nothing recent. This approach has avoided making any judgements on the strength of any teams - the...

Matt's done the rounds then. McKinnon, Hampton (not necessarily in that order), Murrumbeena, Chelsea and back to McKinnon. I like it that there's a premiership photo at McKinnon in the clubrooms which has his first name wrong. I wish him well.
