I reckon he's at a bit of a crossroads. Batsman who prosper in their 30s tend to be of the level-headed, circumspect type. Brute strength and speed between the wickets tends to ebb a little, but intelligence and experience usually more than makes up for that.
If he doesn't want to be that...
One of the worst batsmen ever? Really? The guy averages 54 in the last 12 months.
I think that with North and Hussey in the side we have bigger things to worry about. Clarke would walk into pretty much any Test side in the world at present.
I miss QuickEdit on posts.
Is it perhaps possible to set up posts with alternating colours (say maybe white then light gray)? I like the minimalist design but there's a bit of a lack of differentiation between where one post ends and the next begins.
Has the Subscribed Forums functionality disappeared? The Watched Threads screen looks a lot like the old "My BigCricket", but without that aspect.
Probably not such an issue here where the forum list is pretty short, but I'd definitely add that functionality before considering rolling it out to...
It would be nice to make the subforums a bit more prominent in the user list. I had to hunt around a little for the Australia forum.
Sorry, I know things are very temporary - I'm just posting as I notice things.
Like. Still getting used to it.
A smaller default font would be nice, at least in the forum area. The post width is fairly narrow as it is, I'm finding I'm doing a lot of scrolling to read the same amount of content as I do in vBulletin.
Regarding the width, unless you're planning on putting...
Re: Test XI Selection Thread
I really feel sorry for Jaques, his injury came at the worst possible time. He probably regrets choosing Australia now - he would have been a mainstay in the English team.
Re: Speculation over NZ vs Pakistan matches to be held in USA
Hey, nothing I'd like more than to be proved wrong. The fact that you use that analogy shows that you're clearly missing the point.
Just maybe there's more to sport than having a single winner in every match, eh? Nah, couldn't be...
Re: Speculation over NZ vs Pakistan matches to be held in USA
Ladies and gentleman, meet the average American. If I don't understand it, it's wrong.
Fair enough, welcome to BigCricket. But if you're just here to stir shit about the game, you'll have a fairly short stay.
Re: Speculation over NZ vs Pakistan matches to be held in USA
Bariaga - I'm not sure if you still post here, but a lot of the problems in the past have been to do with the incompetence and corruption in USA Cricket. They were excluded from the ICC for a long time, and even when they weren't...
Re: Speculation over NZ vs Pakistan matches to be held in USA
Like I said, you're the standard American sports fan, you don't get it.
As for T20 decimating Tests in terms of popularity, it depends on your definition. Total attendance for Test matches still regularly dwarfs that for individual...
Re: Australian Politics
What's your definition of a viable alternative then? The Lib Dems are a substantial reason why a hung parliament existed in the first place, which gave them an incredible amount of bargaining power. They may have only had 20 seats but unlike either major party THEY got...
Re: Speculation over NZ vs Pakistan matches to be held in USA
What's not true about my post?
Cricket is certainly not conducive to the close-minded American sportsfan. If you suggested to them the possibility of a game that lasts for 5 days and at the end there's a 20-30% chance you won't have...
Re: Australian Politics
Labor, not because they're any good but rather because the Liberals are just a poor copy of them with some wacky religious right social values thrown in.
Weakest pair of contesting parties since the 1990 election, IMO. Expect the Greens to pick up a hefty slice of the vote.
Re: Cricket Australia considers new 40-over format
I think it's a bad idea as long as T20 cricket exists, and 50 overs remains the ODI format.
Ideally I'd like 40 over cricket to be the sole limited overs version of the game however.
Re: Speculation over NZ vs Pakistan matches to be held in USA
I don't particularly care about the US. Their obsession with fast-food style sport will never be conducive to cricket, even T20. Americans also have very little interest in anything they're not the best in the world at. Besides...
Re: Womens ICC World T20
I don't like the boundary countback rule. Runs are runs, it seems unfair that a side gets an additional benefit because of the format some of them were scored.
