I thought there were more highlights of Yasir on YouTube? I do remember watching one of the test highlight packages where he got a wicket with a googly.
To turn the ball I varied my pace and angle of spin until I found the 'right' mix to get turn. For this pitch it was slightly loopy with more...
Made my return to the bowling crease today for he first day of a 2 innings match, unfortunately the day ended early due to rain.
Bowled quite well on a green pitch in slightly greasy conditions, ended up with 7.2 overs 2 wickets for 15 runs as the opposition struggled through to 130/8.
First...
I haven't been posting much about my season so far is due to a great run of injuries that have kept me out of the game or at least only playing occasionally.
Injuries in chronological order: Left glute (tendon), right calf (strain), left calf (strain) and finally right shoulder impingement...
Agree with that, mind you we struggle to get people in general to want to be umpires so it isn't really a surprise.
Thinking of the decision, SL should have been cool with it, if Guptill had stayed in we would have got no way near 300.
Unfortunately the average NZ cricket fan has a habit of ignoring domestic performances. Elliott has been very impressive in the T20 then 50 over stuff for Wellington, looked a cut above everyone that played. Neesham struggled recently until he got that 80 odd against SL in a test, pretty sure...
I always tell the young spinners, don't worry about the bad balls, try and make the batsman (usually their mate) look like a dick and get him out...that's usually enough to get them interested in spin.
For me (c).
Suffered a back injury at 18 which stopped me from bowling my Nathan Astle style slow mediums. My leg break was actually a slower ball, when the 1st coach saw me bowling those slower balls as 'spinners' he told me to forget the seam up stuff if I wanted to get anywhere.
Had zero...
You mean when the NZC went back on their word and caved into the BCCI rather than back Shane Bond?
Must've been fair amount of cash that tempted to him or something else that has happened.
Do any spinners here bowl a knuckle ball or what is effectively a 'nothing' ball?
I've bowled one or two every now and then and the effects in the air are unpredictable but can be useful because of that.
Oh good, he was slapped in the face with money until he went to the IPL.
This is a massive loss for NZ cricket and I hope they will search for a serious replacement.
It is meaningful change then. If Chino#21's suggestions don't work then I suggest you post a video of your new action and describe what you are aiming at.
Wonder what the real reason behind this?

Purely rumour mill stuff but is it to do with Henry's exclusion?
I agree as well.
There is a certain degree me playing the Wellington card but Elliot is there on merit. During the domestic T20 he consistently showed his hitting ability and later in the List A stuff he has been on song.
Munro may feel slighted but I just haven't seen the same ability that...
The more interesting call is Mills over Henry, if Southee gets injured he will take up his role in the team?
Neesham's form has not been good, the one score against a weak SL side wasn't enough to get him in.
If you are accurate and don't spin the bowler you are not a spin bowler. If you spin the ball but are not accurate you will not get very far.
Same for pace as well.
