If your saying Newcomb are in the best four they must of recruited, they didn't make finals last year and I think GCA div2 will be stronger this season. Skinny loves getting the cheque book out every few years at the Old Dinos. Is there a chance they will have quite a few of the old firm...
Aliitle bit going on.
St Albans seem right in the middle of it although they deny it like all clubs, I heard they have recruited very well and will improve out of sight on last year.
No word on Newcomb, good mail says they're splashing the cash around so would have someone penciled in. Skinny...
I think Scene is the best option for Waurn Ponds. Well respected figure and they won't be far away from the six with last years team.
Nathan Bissett has left Murgheboluc and headed elsewhere, does anyone know where? Was a handy player at Leopold in div1 a few years ago.
The recruiting campaign...
I've heard Jason Murray is going to Newcomb for the coming season, correct? You wouldn't leave a club after winning a flag unless;
a) You had a falling out, or
b) Your getting paid alot of money.
Did any major things come out of the GCA meeting Wednesday night? Can someone give me a run down of...
I've heard on good mail Newcomb have offered several ex players big dollars to return. $8,000 is the figure I'm told, and thats each possibly 2 or 3 ways.
Some clubs never learn:rolleyes:
Any news on recruits elsewhere?
They would need to recruit at the least 2-3 quality bats to go with Young and 2 genuine seamers to be remotely competitive. It's as good as official that Highton are up and Thomson are down. Clubs have been informed apparently.
I see South Barwon are the 1st team to come out swinging in the recruiting stakes for 2011/12
Appointed Phil Halbish as Captain/Coach
He played in Melbourne Cricket Clubs 2009/10 1st XI Premiership
Very good opening bowler who bowls with good pace and a more than handy lower order bat prob...
Agree so clubs may have to find out the hard way that money doesn't buy success. Simple invest in youth and recruit the right people to your club that are in it for the long hall, not a quick cash grab.
I've heard a little bit of mail getting around that there may be a few Geelong CC players joining local clubs next season. Keep your ears out and posts news when/if it accurs.
Geelong City will be fuming if they are not promoted, I know they expected to come down dominate by winning the flag and return straight back up. Will them losing the GF have a impact on there chances?
Cox went there after Xmas so I doubt he gets paid. I would imagine that like most clubs players you think that would be getting paid don't actually get anything. Miller was the coach so I'd assume he got paid.
The whole salary cap system needs to be reviewed and more than likely scraped all...
Apprently looking for an outsider to come in and fix the batting troubles, A top order bat. Any news on who they've approached or going to approach?
Any reason behind the O'Neill departsure?
Thomson should be given another year in div1 IMO. Maybe time for Newtown, Leopold or Manifold to drop...
Bambury was highly paid at Lara by all reports, upwards of $8,000 wouldn't think he'd be taking a pay cut if East have chased him.
Anderson from BPH is going to Newcomb apparently along with Brad Scown as bowling coach also heard Matt Harrison may be a chance.
Surprised to see O'Neill leave...
Well what a weekend of cricket.......
We had Geelong West belt there way 336 on Saturday with majestic hundreds from Chapple and Talarico and St Albans defying all odds and rolling raging favs Geelong City for 107 on a road and lightening quick outfield.
Geelong West now take over as the most...
