Re: The Carrom Ball
slighht deviation, what is a carrom ball?
Yesterday our wicket keeper was convinced I was bowling them, when I thought I was bowling just a typical leg spin action.
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)
well, had a bit of a bat and bowl
got 3 runs and out lbw, given by my trigger happy ex housemate, and bowled by an ex teammate of mine.
Managed to get the last 3 overs of the day( being a friendly, overs were spread out wide and far) and got 3-0-11-1...
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)
not sure what i'm doing today, got a friendly.
I may actually be wicket keeping (was discussed with cap during nets) , which whilst it will be interesting, and would probably earn me some regular spot in the saturday team doing something, its not bowling...
Re: How to prepare a ball for the swing bowlers
talking of shining ...
YouTube - Shannon Noll - Shine
used for the ashes highlights here :)
anyway back to topic
I am generally the only person on my team that will even attempt to shine it. The rest can't be arsed and often i get told to...
Re: Fake cricket bats
Hmm
mixed feedback, doesn 't have a high reputation.
Not that many auctions at any one time, most of the sellers have a lot going at all times.
Lack of picture of product makes me wary, it looks like a stock photo from the kba website?
Personally I would avoid, but...
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)
What i usually do, check tha radar maps on bbc.co.uk/weather. They are far more accurate than the blanket forecasts. You can actually work out where you are and its far better.
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)
Thats the same as me really. I really struggle to bowl in nets, just clipping the roof of the net etc (its quite a low set of nets) And then i'm fine if i get down there on a non net day and practise for 2-3 hours.
Just got to work on it and hopefully be...
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)
Leggies are good bowlers to bowl at anyon,e but you have to have a plan. I prefer to face batsmen higher up the order because they will be planning to stay around a bit
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)
How did everyones saturday go?
Played a "home " match for the 3rds away at the other teams home ground today.
We got smashed for 250 or so, mostly by their opening bats man (1st team player who was "filling in" ) although I caught him on 86 at point (good...
Re: [Rant] Cricket not a sport
Those words are hardly "chav" words. Go to london, or anywhere north ish and you'll hear things like Shank and merk and blud
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)
Good news on my camp. Managed to get down nets today and pursuaded the captains to move me down into the 3rds. Should mean I get a chance with ball this weekend
Re: [Rant] Cricket not a sport
We seem pretty organised at making teams, in that they are panicking on tuesday and thursday at nets ;)
It was NCI 3, playing Granta 4 this weekend.
Having checked on the play - cricket website, I can only see her scores for NCI womens 1st, wihch arn't bad :p...
Re: [Rant] Cricket not a sport
I guess england being quite compact, theres a lot of oppurtunity. These two women were playing for the local social club team , though apparently normally play for Cambridgeshire CC . To be fair, I was one of only two batsmen who survived their young opener...
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)
Hmm you are in deed right. I am confusing myself. I thought that topspin would bounce further forward like in tennis, whereas it actually dips a lot more and thus has more downwards velocity and bounces higher.
And then thought that backspin would bounce...
Re: [Rant] Cricket not a sport
Ha , i got bowled out by a girl last week in a match.
Turns out she played county cricket for Cambridgeshire ( where I live)
