Re: GCA Twenty20 Competition
Does anyone know when the draw for this comp is? couldn't be far away considering it's meant to start in the 2nd week of October.
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 09/10
How will your Rd1 side look this season HH? It will be a very different side to last year, I see Chris Hester is having a season off also. Any new faces been at training or just looking to the youth?
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 09/10
I've been told they all have or will be cleared by this week with the exception of Anderson, who they're saying signed on as coach for 2 years last season.
I think the GCA/BPCA need a clearance link like Football Geelong and the GDFL have.
Re: GCA Division 3 Previews and Predictions
Yeah should be interesting to see how it plays, I wouldn't wanna be facing the first few balls out there if previous clubs are to go by (on new turf wickets)
Re: GCA Division 3 Previews and Predictions
We've got some decent juniors that should be pushing up through the grades this season. Hopefully 1 or 2 to cement a spot in the 1sts. Numbers are fairly good in all the junior sides and in2 cricket if this year shapes up similar to last season.
Re: GCA Division 3 Previews and Predictions
I think Ben Straughn is coaching Barrabool and Jed Potter is just going to play.
I dunno anything about the country teams, most struggled last season and are probably just looking to improve this season, do you know anymore about these sides...
Re: GCA Twenty20 Competition
I wouldn't go that far, it's worth $30,000.
I think you'll find the GDFL people operating it don't have any idea how to utilize it. I've played around with it and does basically anything you want. What don't you like about it? The choice of colors they chose...
Re: GCA Twenty20 Competition
Better than having no money I guess.........
It's round robin so we'll get at least 3 games:p
I'm sure the colored gear can be used for a few years to come in future events, it was sponsored anyhow and at no cost to the club.
Re: GCA Twenty20 Competition
What are clubs doing in terms of kits for the twenty20?
We've got full color kits for it, we had the tops from last year and have purchased black trousers and black batting and w/k pads.
Re: GCA Division 3 Previews and Predictions
The GDFL Grand Final is on September 12th, so that gives 3 weeks.
The middle is a a bog pile at the moment and dare say it will be for the rest of the finals.
Will the whole square being santa anna couch instead of rye be an advantage in...
Re: GCA Twenty20 Competition
The BPCA tried this last year (leaving it up to the clubs to organize) and the Final turned out to be a flop, teams couldn't agree on a day and time and the final ended up being played in the dark on a Thursday night. Having said that it shouldn't be an issue with...
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat
Hope you've got your chin strap done up nice and tight Rd1 Tenchy, Millsy and Muzza aren't too happy with your comments. I wouldn't be expecting too many in your half:eek:
Re: GCA Division 3 Previews and Predictions
I think it was released but Shelford want to put a side in 1st XI I think, we're waiting on the GCA to make a decision on that I'm guessing.
hopefully they get it sorted soon enough.
