This I find very easy to believe. The idea that Macleod would offer money to Skeggs and Kernaghan, both of whom can't get a regular game in their respective firsts, is laughable.
They were powerhouses interms of their size, number of teams, etc, not their on-field performances. Greensborough didn't make the finals their last season in the HDCA and Macleod never won an A grade flag. Since they left for the DVCA both clubs have roughly halved in size so, from an...
Firstly, Rosebank are out of the DVCA's area so they have to change their rules or ignore their rules to allow Rosebank in.
Secondly, if they are playing Epping / Mill Park / Thomastown Utd, etc the travel might not be too bad, but once they start going to Lower Plenty, Plenty, Hurstbridge...
I agree, it's quite hilarious at times. I don't know where 'rooms' is getting his info from.
Yes, I have heard this also. Looks like there's a good chance he'll be heading back to BSO.
Sorry Northmetroboy, I don't agree that Rosebank ruined the HDCA. The comp's issues go deeper than that. Things have been in decline since Clfiton Hill and Macleod left. I thought the HDCA was going to fold when Greensborough left but with Rosebank coming in we hung on for a few more years...
Freedom of speach??? Learn to spell. You're a tool because you come on here gloating about the demise of a competition that's been going for almost 90 years and don't appear to have anything worthwhile to say. Have your opinion, fine, but if you choose to come here and talk shyte, then don't...
Yes I have heard this is on the cards. My mail also tells me another former HDCA player who was captain coach of a Money Shield side for the past two season, may be heading back to his original club.
Triple Dunbar??? Hadn't heard that, but have heard that Scott and Dan may be on the move...
The top four clubs in the HDCA would be a welcome addition to any suburban competition and wouldn't reduce the standard at all.
As for Clifton Hill, they left the year after Macleod left to go to the DVCA (about 10 years ago) saying they weren't sure of the long-term viability of the comp with...
Yep, Rosanna won. They batted first and made 167 off their 20, 6 or 7 out, I think. RECCC finished on 160 for 4 or 5 out. Cracker of a game. Pretty good chase actually, RECCC needed 40 off the last 3 so were under the pump, but to fall 7 runs short was a good chase.
True there, moneybank. You've only got to look at Tom's stats in MyCricket. He's played 5 games in the 1s and 4 in the 2s but has batted twice in A grade this season without making a run.
Well, last week was a one-dayer and the Sannas chased down East Ivanhoe's score losing only one wicket...
HDCA members, Rosanna and Rosebank? These are all HDCA people. What makes you think the discussion had anything to do with the NMCA?
Northmetroboy makes a good point, if you go to Money Shield you'll end up travellng to Hurstbridge, Montmorency, Whittlesea, etc for a game of cricket, probably...
It was North Heidelberg CC. One of their players apparently whacked an opposition player after the SF last season. I assume the club has been fined or placed on a bond or something but don't know for sure, tbh.
As for Rosebank, I have heard they wouldn't be welcome bacl at NMCA, but apart...
So West are in trouble. If West went into recess that would surely mean they are closing their doors for good. A club doesn't go into recess for one year then starting playng again the following year.
One club I know of has a bond over its head due to a fight, that is all. I doubt if there...
Do you really think there was not ever going to be some sort of proposal on the format? The DVCA clubs rejected it before there was even a proposal, so basically you lot didn't even know what it was you were rejecting. I would have thought the intellectual giants would at least see what was on...
