It would be a real shame if that was to occur. Love him or hate him he has done a lot of work for that Club and for the VSDCA and hopefully RPB can continue in the VSDCA.
Feel we are starting to hit our straps a bit especially with our overseas player getting amongst the runs the last two matches.
Very interesting second half of the season coming up. Don't think the top 6 is anywhere near settled.
Hoppers have had an excellent start but haven't played any of...
Amazing days cricket, Melton were very young but a lot of the wickets were streaky, expecting a much tougher days cricket and a proud Club to bounce back next weekend.
Must also be said that was great to see the VSDCA finally triumph over the VCCL. Matt Dean and Wild the stars!
West:
1. M. Dean
2. S. Dean
3. A. Maynard
4. M. Love
5. D. McDonald
6. S. Jones
7. J. Grubb (WK) no standout keeper in the West, Grubb kept throughout his junior years
8. M. Johnstone (C)
9. B. Jones
10. B. Robertson
11. G. Kennedy
That would be my West side with O'Brien, Kirk and McCammond...
Just had a look at the sides (fantastic that they are now on MyCricket) and there are a few guest players:
Malvern- Michael Beer (St Kilda)
Brighton- Hamish Winter-Irving (Footscray)
Kew- Matthew Brown (Melbourne)
Melton- Antony Keely (Melbourne Uni)
Justin Lampard from Camberwell is pulling on the blue and gold for us, apart from that haven't heard much.
I know Brighton have secured John Hastings for an upcoming T20, great get!
Obviously Williamstown having 3 points after 3 games doesn't look great but we have played Oakleigh and Werribee, not saying we will definitely make finals but it is very early to make that call.
Werribee have made a comment, see below:
WERRIBEE CC STATEMENT RE: PREMIER CRICKET EXPANSION
A meeting was held between Cricket Victoria and the 3 clubs vying for a Premier Cricket license (Werribee, Melton & Plenty Valley) on Monday evening.
CV advised that despite CV Board commitment to...
Looking forward to Woody's response to your 'minnow' call.
I understand what you are saying but the major reason behind his move was to Capt/Coach a Premier Club believing that Werribee were going to move into premier cricket.
Also should be noted that Travis Dean has been selected to debut for Victoria tomorrow. Another ex subbies club champion in the side tomorrow as well as Peter Handscomb.
That side of the competition is definitely not as strong but to call it after Rd 2 is a big call especially with Plenty Valley just having an off day with the stick. Lets not forget their Rd 1 win and also their last couple of seasons.
