This is happening on Wednesday I believe and the Club recently agreed to apply to premier cricket so can't see them knocking back this opportunity.
On Thursday Hoppers Crossing will be in the subbies.
Chirnside Park, Werribee to Hogans Road Oval, Hoppers Crossing is actually further than the distance it is between Williamstown and Yarraville's home grounds. 10 mins down the road is Altona also so I don't think Hoppers joining would be considered that big of a deal.
It is also a lot closer...
All mail on twitter and in newspapers is that subbies and premier cricket will begin the Sunday after the AFL GF. Wow wee few hungover lads will be playing that day.
I have said numerous times on here that exact point, they should be looking at reducing Premier Cricket rather than expanding it. Couldn't agree more with your sentiments.
We have signed Dale McDonald as captain/coach and have got four other players in Matt Twentyman, Hayden Castle, James Cook and Pat O'Malley from Greenvale/North Melbourne as well. We are hoping to acquire one more player in the coming days.
RPB announced Yates as CC, haven't heard anything else...
AFL Victoria are doing this because there are Club's who are dominating year in and year out without losing games and spending obscene amounts of money making the competition extremely uneven. I don't believe this to be the case in subbies. Yes sides like Caulfield and Oakleigh and recently...
Its an interesting debate but I am all for getting as many good players into the competition as possible. I realise it would be best if they were distributed evenly across all 28 sides but that is never going to happen. I say well done to Ormond getting 7 ex Premier Players and that is why they...
Long trek but good luck to him, has been a great player and joins a great Club. Nathan will either be at Spotswood or Yarraville next season I believe.
Not too sure mate, Spike is a much loved and revered character you would think that there would have been some sort of send off. Oakleigh surely premiership favourites and as previously mentioned what a comp the South/West will be if they join it.
Maybe there is a lot of love between Melton and RPB.
Not disputing his record but all that was, was five paragraphs of how good he is and me, me, me, give us a spell.
Don't have to make this into a tit for tat and trying to make this into something bigger than it is. At the end of the day it is subbies cricket and although we all love it, there is a lot more to life. Congrats on the great relationship you have with Melton, I also have respect for the Club...
Have you lost a bit of connection with the goings on at Melton?
I won't pass comment on the situation of Melton Presidency as I don't want to drag a mates name out on this forum and betray confidences but I don't think Westland's too far off the mark on this one.
In regards to Ben's post about commenting on Melton's situation and then also hiding behind alias' I think the responses have been spot on. We are not dealing in rumours and innuendo, you will find when the season comes around that those six players will not be in Melton's 1st XI for round 1...
