C3 has 15 teams. 3 clubs have two teams C1 has 6 teams I know one is a two day comp and the other is a one day comp but does this make sense to anybody

Yep - that restructure we voted on seems to have the desired effect. I'm tipping it will be less next year, even before CV get their hands on things

6 sides in South C1 - no South C3 draw yet. And on that - how come there is a C1 and C3 but no C2. (Or B for that matter)

This may have something to do with Highett not wanting their 2nd XI to go up!!!! Their 2nd XI get promoted to South 2nds (because their 1st XI finish runner-up). But this is on the back of a season where of the 7 two-day games, the seconds managed to lose 5 outright. And apparently the VTCA...

Agree with you mate - they acknowledged that something wasn’t right, put up options with regard to the possible restructure - but it is the definition of idiocy to change nothing, and expect things to improve Roll on next week!!!

Question - Do the VTCA want a southern section? If CV come in and restructure, the south clubs will combine into their regions, and the northern clubs will pretty much stay in the VTCA!! So would the VTCA weep for their loss?

If I was on the executive of those comps, I would be circling I agree with you. We are forever being bombarded with the “you’ve got to put your hand up and help out” requests - but why bother Last year, our club put in a proposal to the VTCA concerning the points for junior players. We submitted...

Then why not do what every other suburban comp does and not have aligned 1st and 2nd XI comps? Teams whether they are 1st XI, or 4th XI can find the grade they should be playing in. What we have now is crap 2nd XIs forced to go up because their 1st XI did well - and they either don’t bother...

We said that at the time of the vote. Clubs would either vote for what is best for them, what is best for the comp/cricket or will just vote on an issue that doesn't affect them. A little bit too much of a) and c) and not enough of b) - and in my opinion not enough courage from the VTCA to make...

From the Secretary last week - (my bolding - which probably highlights, that although things at club level may have moved, the exec havent. I mean seriously, who really cares about a fixture book in 2014??) Hi to all Clubs, The fixturing process for the 2014\15 season has been seriously...

And now we have a kid who comes back from Premier 4ths as a 3 point player - because he was given that made up number 4 years ago. If he didn't play 1 game for us back then, he would be a 2 point player!!! So the massive review with points that occurred over the off season actually disadvantages...

Interesting passive aggressive communication just through from the VTCA. Given their reluctance (stubbornness) to acknowledge that if there were regional 2nd XIs and non aligned grades then you would automatically gain more depth - I think the words bolted, horse and gate can be rearranged in a...

Tried and failed, unfortunately. They merely justified their decision (we already knew the justification) without actually considering the points we raised.

When he was a Parkdale player the points system was different. He was considered a pro, and they were 9, and then 8 points for his 2nd year. And when he came back, you take the highest value applicable, which in his case it is what it was in his previous year rather than the 6. We understand...

We’ve got a player at our club who played 10 years in the juniors, a similar amount in our senior grades - left to play Premier cricket, returned to the club (was picked in the Team of the century) and then retired. He then coached another club that was just around the corner from him, and then...

Tend to agree with this. Having Promotion and Relegation from Premier, sort of defeats the purpose of having regional pathways. It is up to the Premier clubs to utilise the clubs in their region. If a club wanted to justify why it should be included in the Premier comp they can do that - but...

    Senior Division 13/14

Do you reckon the South is in a healthy state? Effectively another 2 clubs gone this season – including 1 who won the Senior Division flag two years ago. There is no depth - only 2 grades for a club’s teams lower (below their 2nds) to play – which doesn’t help the bigger clubs who might have...

Assuming that everybody who voted Option C, then changes to Option A (I can’t see why anybody would have C as their 1st preference and not have A as their 2nd) - then it would seem that Option A (the status quo) will get up. Now I can’t believe that an issue seemingly as important as this is...
