Agree, with the 1st point
And of the options, I reckon that (b) is the best one. However i just don't get the need to have aligned first and second XIs. Every other suburban league manages it - if they have straight grades, then they can have their cake, and eat it too. Strong senior division...
I'd imagine so. There would always be a direct swap for the lowest south team and the south premier, and the lowest two north/west teams and their respective premiers. The premier would have the choice to come up, but if they did it would always be at the expense of a team from their side of the...
There are 3 options put forward
a) Status quo
b) No Senior division, with North, South and West divisions the top levels
c) Senior division with North, South and West divisions below them
Contrary to what a lot of us have discussed at various meetings, option b) is the only one that doesn’t...
Information session next week on the Divisional structure of the VTCA for next year and beyond
Any thoughts?
From the president’s meeting I went to it seems they won’t be running unaligned 1st and 2nd XI comps – such as we saw last year in the South. But I also got the impression that Senior...

If you read what I wrote, you will notice I’m certainly not anti-Hatch or anti-Subbies. I do think the Subbies are just another suburban competition – that yes, has some very good players, and yes, play on very good grounds, but then so do most other suburban comps. Why would I send my kids for...
I've coached for 4 years in the CV pathway, now just happen to coach a VTCA club. We have one young ex-junior currently opening the bowling at Premier level, another couple I arranged tryouts for at premier clubs, one kid playing Vic U-15s who played Dowling, 5 played VMCU, 2 played Hatch...
I don’t know how unique it is!! There are CV pathway sides (which is a very, very good standard), and the various association sides. Hatch to me, seems to exist for those kids who aren’t good enough to play in the pathway or VMCU carnivals (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing) – or those kids...
Even with no rain today (and there has already been some) we would have been no chance of getting a roller near our deck until at least this afternoon. And we have our own (part-time) curator. Goodness knows how much work would get done late on a Friday afternoon on council prepared decks
I think in a perfect world you would have 8 or 10 or 12 even teams who all have even 2nds (and 3rds and 4ths teams), but I don’t think we live in that perfect world
If we had a straight 2nds comp in South division, then this season we were 1 run (Aspendale winning the South A semi vs Hampton...
That's a very good point
This year we will have a two day Saturday and a one day Saturday side. Some guys will want to play two day stuff, some will play one days stuff – others won’t be fussed, and others will only be available one week
So for us, it isn’t a case of 3s and 4s – but obviously...
It’s a VTCA forum for crying out loud. I had a query from one of our members about the fact that the draws were up for the 2nds (in the VTCA) and we had a bye in round whatever it was
Once again read what I (and others) have written and tell me if any of my facts are wrong, or if any of my...
