Re: VTCA Thread hahahaha, surely the committee would put a bonus clause in for cone placement? From a Hoppers perspective, Shane McEachran and Trent Said are two of the best blokes you are ever likely to meet. Always hang around for a beer well into the night, are happy to socially...

Re: VTCA Thread I know the club is pushing Council hard to extend the recycled water pipeline up to our ground to service both ovals, however, they are getting push back as they want the club (and football club) to move up the road to a new "Casey Fields" style multi-oval site near the old...

Re: VTCA Thread When we took over from the Council for our No.1 ground a couple of seasons back, they provided their roller as part of the deal, though we had already purchased our own Mentay ride on about 7 years earlier, which cost us about $20k at the time. It was a huge investment at the...

Re: VTCA Thread Tell me about it... I have to play on it every second game and my old legs are feeling the pain!! Unfortunately, it is outside the club's control and is a Council issue... and obviously they are not watering it. Sad thing is, our No.1 ground's outfield is not much better...

Re: VTCA Thread Hoppers now prepare the wickets on all three of our grounds. The main oval took us many years of negotiation with the Council to take over, but since that time the improvement has been massive, with our own guy putting in the TLC required to prepare a nice track. Costs are...

    VTCA - Season 2006

Re: VTCA - Season 2006 We would love to have all 8 senior sides in the VTCA but do not have access to a fourth turf wicket. We are working pretty hard at securing one for next season, so you are correct in saying Hoppers should have sides in all 6 lower grades (plus the Senior A and Senior...

    VTCA - Season 2006

Re: VTCA - Season 2006 I heard from a reliable source that the structure is going to change next season in the lower divisions, with possibly four divisions playing on Saturdays. Will probably take the form of North C1 (10 teams), North C2 (10 teams), North D1 (10 teams), North D2 (8 teams).

    VTCA - Season 2006

Re: VTCA - Season 2006 Mate, would have to agree after their last match to Druids, though they did reasonably well against Beauy on the weekend and should take the points if they bowl to their potential. Funny comment on Yarraville though!! Should be a very interesting comp in Senior Div...

    VTCA - Season 2006

Re: VTCA - Season 2006 After a disappointing loss last week on the road to Brighton Districts, Hoppers will be looking to bounce back hard against old foes Sunshine Druids. Minus their star Ian Timms though, it will be a pretty even encounter I think. Should be a cracker of a game.

    VTCA - Season 2006

Re: VTCA - Season 2006 Ian Timms again dominated for Hoppers in Senior A with a big 94. I am expecting another big season from the great man!
