Hmm, yeah pace and flight are tough to master. Right now I just need to cut out the odd full toss and one down leg, then I should be right for the season.
That's a shame you haven't really got to play on turf much. We get to train on astroturf and play games on turf. Turf is a dream to bowl...
Thats good to hear. How is your bowling coming along too?
Do you train on turf or astro in these trainings?
For me, if I get my straight drive right then I know I'm playing well.
Well I'm an opening batsman, but I actually find it the opposite. When I score runs, I have more confidence in my bowling, and seem to bowl better. However, alot of the time I don't score runs, and I just bowl alright. So in short, most of the time my bowling is alright but it's my batting that...
I'm the same. Its the best feeling when you get a wicket just before drinks so you get an early drinks... then when you come back on the field you still get to bowl the rest of your over.
My stats from 4 seasons are:
Overs- 288.2
Maidens- 17
Wickets- 72
Average- 17.32
Strike Rate- 24
Economy- 4.32
It would be nice to reach 100 wickets this year. All I'd need is 28 wickets in 20 games or more if we make finals.
Keep in mind that these seasons range from u14s to u18s. If I take...
Definitely agree. I love when I get the chance to prove people wrong, it makes me bowl so much better. Though I'm lucky I haven't had to prove people wrong within my team, just had to prove the opposition wrong.
Nah I've never really done this but have done it with a keeper a few times. Yeah I love the topspinner, but particularly the topspinner with just a hint of leg spin - on australian pitches that delivery really is magic. Bounce, dip, and just enough turn, and that is why it is my stock ball...
Hi, my season starts October 15. Still got a fair while to practice and get ready. My accuracy has started to really come together now, hoping it will remain that way and improve before the start of the season.
That's unlucky that they won't let you play till october, even thought the weather's...
I just bowl leg breaks with a hint of back spin, scrambled seam, a bit more roundarm, and this usually gives it all the chance it needs to skid on fast.
Yeah I agree the flipper probably needs to be fast.
Here is a couple recent clips of my bowling. No deliveries videod were perfect, but they should do.
File (3) is a legspinner which I'm pretty sure curves and drops nicely, though on a yorker length haha.
File (2) is a topspinner which didn't come out with the loop I usually like to bowl them...
Yeah astroturf I feel negates one of the important aspects of the flipper - the low bounce. But it still doesn't hide the fact that it's not coming out fast enough.
Well, the slider doesn't have much backspin, whereas the flipper has full backspin. Also the flipper seems to have a higher...
I will have to post a video of my bowling again soon on here. The season is coming up (mid October), and I have solidified a couple good changes in my action over the course of the offseason. I seem to be getting some more turn, drift and dip now. Although admittedly it is hard to tell if I am...
