whooooaaaa, a few posts about SBCC here, flavour of the months. With points system for next season I believe you will find that returning players (both Joel and Peakey played juniors at South) they get ranked at half their normal value should they come back to the GCA for a different club...
Are we sure it is 60mm ? That would take all grounds out. I checked one of the sites and they are predicting under 5mm through until Saturday. Hopefully it holds off and Round 1 is not affected by the weather. Fingers crossed !!
The GCA would probably have to fill the Pennant position to do that. At the GCA AGM that and the Statistician position were both not filled. Clearances only opened up today 1st August.
lol, nothing happened as MOST kids travelling over the otherside of the world are going to enjoy themselves, which is what Nads did. He was very committed to cricket though.
Nah, Nads was not an average fella, he was a good young kid in most areas, and could play. We already had an OS player organised for this year, so we could not have him back again, as it is hard enough to cater for one. Hopefully he gets over here for Thomson, but he will be a good player for...
latest rumour going around is that former Geelong star Liam Buchanan is heading across to West. Will make them an even stronger batting line-up than they were previously !! Meat Pies, is this confirmed ?
All, the draws were done tonight, I have attached them below. Not the official draws BUT they should be pretty well right. Main thing is only play each team once, just 3 one day games as we loose 2 weeks this season, 1 AFL Grand Final, 2 due to the ACCC being held in Geelong in January. Good...
I doubt Mozza will be, or will be expecting to fill the gap left by Youngy. Mozza's appointment will purely (IMO) be a coaching role, and he may very well take some sort of role in their 2nd XI. They will need 2-3 top up players to go towards the huge loss of Young, but maybe some young guys...
wow, unexpected call that. Mozz used to play for Highton prior to South also, so probably a return home. It seems South Barwon players are the flavour of the month with coaches, Bushy to North Geelong, and Mozza to Highton !! Is there any other vacant positions we should be worried about ?
Hassett left prior to last season, you were not talking about Stacka, who may have retired ?? Lindsay might be coaching but I doubt he will have time to play with his full time coaching committments at one of the private schools on the weekend.
While I would love to say that we have Clinton playing for us next season at this stage we only have his availability in a part time development coaching role. Hopefully as the season approaches he might find a bit more time to be able to play the occasional game. But it is good to know that...
If you rate the Santa Anna outfield grounds then the top 4 would be higher than South's natural kykuya. If you rate wicket squares then East, Grovedale and South (I am biased!) would be top 3. All upgraded santa-anna outfields are pretty good, and it is just the squares that differentiate...
not sure how the squad is selected but I know that Shaun has now been invited to come down and train after North Geelong spoke to the U21 coach today who was more than happy for him to come down as he had obviously played against him a few times in the last few years. Looking at the bowlers...
I don't think there is any administration overhead from the associations for salary cap breaches, not sure when the last one was uncovered ? They need to use a points system to stop this happening in the future as the current system is so hard to police.
