I was watching at work and feeling sick. Johnson bowled an over where Philander had no right to still be out there and I thought 'that's it we are done for'. Horrible. Thought about turning it off, but couldn't do it. Then the charging Rhino came on and bam, bam. it was done. Unbelievable.
Haddin has a gate and a half which Steyn exploited beautifully.
Marsh is a mess early. That ball that Philander got him with didn't even swing much, just a half-volley on his pads. Just keep bowling at thim there or to the slips and he's done.
You can tell the non-Aussie fans. They are the only ones who would expect the Aussies to stand up in this sort of situation. I can't remember the last time they did hold out for a draw or even get close.
Doolam looked horrid in this match, in the second innings he looked like the pressure was just too much for him. One nervous poke after another. I hope he collects himself for the next.
He's not in been in first class form for years. Talk about a wing and a prayer. I'm very annoyed about his selection. They could have picked his brother and I've have been less pissed off even though he's not a test cricketer's bootlace yet.
How bad would it look if he decided to startplaying again in the next 12 months or so? It would look like he'd just run away from a difficult tour. I think it's final too. He's got kids now and probably wants to see them occasionally.
Oner thing you have to say about Johnson, never doubted that he really wants to play test cricket for Australia. It's his head that has been in the way up till now. If he's got that sorted, he could have a great time for the next 18 months or so till some of the sickbay candidates get sorted.
How badly must Jimmy Anderson want to go home now his buddy Swann has jumped ship? Anyway, I still can't quite bring myself to believe that the Aussies are giong to sweep the series.
That would be too crazy. Johnson might have other ideas of course.
There wouldn't be a keeper left in the game if you kicked them out for sledging.
Nairbe, Clarke was pointing out in a rather crass way that Mitchell Johnson was bowling pretty damn fast. I don't understand why people are taking this as Clarke saying he was going to wallop Anderson. He was...
Well with the new ball he was trash but Clarke is handling him really well, and not persisting with him unduly. His bouncer was working like a dream.
Hope Adelaide has a tad more bounce to it than we all expect.
If Lyon doesn't do much first two matches, I wouldn't be surprised to see him replaced. That's the biz with him. He gets replaced regularly so don't see why he'd play the whole Ashes.
They must be busting to get a leggie in.
Johnson will bowl like trash the first innings he is on the field...
Andrew McDonald???? He's a good cricketer, who next is going to be thrown up as a 'worst' contender?
Clint McKay? He's only played one test and didn't do much on debut. Ohhhh, he must be shite.
