I've seen stuff all of it it's on too late for me, but looking at the score cards it's a cracking match. I might have to stay up tonight. Trouble is I'm working this week. :(
Even Haddin was batting sensibly. We all know he can, but he only bothers occasionally. Punter isn't going to get dropped any time soon, I'm just grateful for 50's from him now. I think this score is ok, if we get around 340, that will be a real score from this batting line-up.
You can't see this series as a make or break one for the younger players. Cowan will probably only play the one match unless Marsh breaks down again. Warner and Marsh (If he stays fit) deserve to be persisted with for at least a couple of series for now. Both of them have a lot of experience in...
Interesting 11. Shame about Hewey and Dewey at 4 and 7 but you can't have everything. Keeping my fingers crossed for Shaun Marsh. If his back goes again that will be the end of him in international cricket for a while you'd think.
I'm looking forward to it. I think it will be a very good series, but I just hope the bloody Aussies have picked up their act in the field and we don't see the two or three dropped catches every innings.
The batting looks stronger but we have to wait and see how it works out. I think we'll...
If we are going to lose, why lose with players who are past it? Doesn't make sense to keep Punter and Huss. Haddin's pretty safe unfortunately, but we can't keep the rest of that cabal in the middle/late order intact. It's just laziness on behalf of the selectors, not wanting to take tough...
Clarke says a lot of stuff, I'm never sure if his brain is in gear, really what else is he meant to say when asked about Hughes? He's backed him and backed him up to now.
But yes our senior players are the most culpable for me. One duff shot after another, only Huss got a ripper.
Anyway...
I was worried that the Kiwis would throw their wickets away and so it came to pass. I wish the senior batsmen would just for once understand that it's a five day match not a sloggers' showoff competition. Sorry, futureblackcap but I've seen this all before.
Amazing to think that if Lyon gets shunted to play a four-pronged pace attack, that will be all three debutants from the Sri Lankan series out of the team already.
Copeland must be feeling stitched up. To add insult to injury, the NSW fielders couldn't catch a cold off his bowling today at the SCG.
Should be a very interesting series I hope the Kiwis don't lose their marbles at the idea that they might be in with a real chance. I could see them playing...
If they don't get carried away with trying to belt the ball in the air all the time. If the Kiwis actually try and bat like test batsmen, I see no reason why they shouldn't be really competitive in this series.
The two wickets are the most bowler-friendly in Aus though, so that's against anyone...
Greg Chappell is talking for the sake of it now. Just wants to stay in the press, I can't think of any reason why he would be backing Punter considering he retired around the same age and his seeming disrespect for old players.
The talk around Cummins is a bit scary to be honest. And he can't be expected to lead the attack at his age. He'll end up crocked sooner than later with all this crap flying around about him and the pressure that is going to be on him.
Good grief, what an end to that match. Pat Cummins... must be great to be 18. What do you know of nerves at that age? He's going to be something else.
I always like watching Johnson bat and he was on one today. Striking it so cleanly. His driving was great. Get him out of the team though.
What happens if Punter tons up? I'm sure he has no intention of retiring anyway, but this will make it even less likely. Interesting to see what happens with the selections for the NZ series.
