Aus A Squads For Zim & Sa

First day of the first fourday match and Hilfy and Siddle have been noticeably unsuccessful with the ball in terms of wickets. Krayfish has three, not sure how I feel about that as I bet they were hits into the outfield. Mitch Marsh continues his good tour with a wicket in the last session.

Aus A Squads For Zim & Sa

This has been a very good series. So many close matches. Great that Aus A brought it home in the final. What a last over. Had everything.

Australian T20I XI - Selection Thread

Shaun Marsh in back in the T20 squad as well as the ODI squad for Sri Lanka. I hope he stays on his legs and keeps his head. This is going to be a big year for him if he can. David Warner has been pretty much 'meh' in the A matches in Zimbabwe. Outplayed by Finch, Ferguson and Marsh pretty...

    ODI XI Selection Thread

Well, there you go, the only changes from the squad that went to Bangladesh are White out, Marsh in. David Hussey in, Ferguson out. Which is a bit of a 'WTF is going on' change quite frankly. Both Marsh and Ferguson should be in the squads and Punter GORN. What exactly are they gaining except...

    Big Bash

Quite. They are both over the hill, but at least Colly can bowl a bit and field a lot.

Aus A Squads For Zim & Sa

Ugh, South Africa took Copeland to the cleaners at the end there. His runs per over went up from just over 4 to nearly 8 in about three overs. At least Paine knows now NOT to bowl him at the death in the final.

    The "utility" Player

His batting technique is so ropey it looks like he's meant to be learning to bowl AND bat at test level. I used to think that they might as well just let him go and use him till he learns but I meant as a spin bowler. You can't have him at 6 as they appear to want. He's not good enough. He's ok...

    Big Bash

Unconvincing as it seems, they'll bowl Mitchell Marsh in the Big Bash for sure. His record is freakily good in that format.

    Big Bash

He can't have been in high demand (he's been pretty ordinary in the IPL) so I would think that he can't charge a lot. If we get a couple of 'thanks for the memories' innings out of him, that should be enough and he's still pretty good in the field. Mickey is picking the Warriors (LOL), but he's...

    Big Bash

I think it's bloody marvellous, he's got a pretty good record at the Bash format. Him and Shaun will make a very good combo.

3/133 in the 29th over v Zimbabwe. Maddinson just got out but it was a good partnership between him and Ferguson. Sounds like they were both going well against the spin bowlers.

Rank Your Top Ten Current Umpires

Taufel and Dar are mles ahead. Dar is a very good umpire. I suspect Doctrove should have his eyes checked more regularly. He has a habit now of not even giving plumb LB's and just leaves it up to the players to review it.

Aus A Squads For Zim & Sa

Yes, it seems that way, I like him, but he is going to cop it from the fans if he doesn't pick up his first class average and get a few more tons.

Aus A Squads For Zim & Sa

Siddle and Hilfy will probably be playing both four day matches for the A squad if the point is to give them match practise. I have this horrible feeling that Copeland will only play the one dayers, which is NOT a format he is suited to.

    Big Bash

They should have put in players' salary cap, typical of CA to let that particular cat out of the bag. And it is as I thought, the local players may end up losing out overall as their state contracts will be cut and they'll be on low BB rates if the big stars suck up all the money.

Aus A Squads For Zim & Sa

Tim Paine is giving it with the PR for the A tour. He sounds like a very smooth operator with the media and far more assured and bright than Clarke. I doubt somehow if he got to be skipper of the Big Boys team, we'd have him bleating on about wanting people's respect or letting his private life...

    Cricket Australia Contracts - 2011/12

But as we've learnt, form means nothing or let's face it, Punter wouldn't be in the top 10 either. I thought it was funny that Smith has won the footy pools, I mean gained one of the top CA contracts. He's one down from Mike Hussey. It not only shows what a farce CA has become that by some...

    Cricket Australia Contracts - 2011/12

I don't think we'll ever have a bowling attack that operates as a team with Johnson in it. It's not his fault, his action means he hasn't got the control he needs but he gives so little assistance to the other bowlers and when he's bowling like shit, everybody is down, skipper, fielders...

    Cricket Australia Contracts - 2011/12

It's also because they don't have much in the way of real fighters in the team. Certainly not in the attack.

    Cricket Australia Contracts - 2011/12

I don't expect anyone else to lose their job. I think the scapegoating started with Mike Young and ended with Kat. Sounds and is ridiculous but there it is. Tim Nielsen should have been given the sack with the team's record in the past year or two. But apparently like everyone else, apart from...
