    Victorian Premier Cricket - 2010/11

Team lists on Premier Cricket website shows that Elias is captain tomorrow. That's now 4 different captains this year at HMU - Cookson, Hewat, Tormey and now Elias. I wonder what's happening there ............

    Victorian Premier Cricket - 2010/11

Would think that it's somehow related to not being able to hold a regular spot in CSM 1's. He made a 40-odd early on but has been in the 2s recently. Should be able to slot straight in to the middle order at HMU though, they're a bit light on for experience, and someone to take a bit of pressure...

    Victorian Premier Cricket - 2010/11

Interesting conundrum this - if none of the above were to be imported, how about home grown stock of Jayde Herrick, Marc Carson, Trent Walerys, Peter Dickson, Sam Coates and Andrew Kent. Some could make it now, some might have made it in the past and some might never make it at all, but we'd...

too true - oh well, some interesting games coming up next week. Footscray v Geelong - a real test for the young Doggies, plus St Kilda v Ringwood and Melb v Fitz/Donc - battle of the heavyweights. Then we're just under halfway done - hardly seems like we've had any cricket though !!

    Victorian Premier Cricket - 2010/11

With today's washouts, the only winners are Footscray and Melb Uni who took 1st inns points last week. Melb Uni goes up a few places, but the Doggies jump to 2nd place

Agree about Gulbis, but the Futures League requires a certain number of Under23 players. Same could be said about Dan King (Ring), Steve Seymour (Prah), Ben Clements (FP). All have been getting runs/wkts in Premier Cricket for a few years now - but maybe not as successful as Gulbis.

Agree - Carl Sandri should be batting at 7. Maybe he'll go back there in the 2dayers. Other than Fletcher and Berger, the rest of the batters don't seem up to it IMO. Bowling seems ok with Reid, Smith, Berger and Sandri but they just need more runs

    Victorian Premier Cricket 09/10

Re: Victorian Premier Cricket 09/10 What happened to Footscray was that Rob Cassell got stuck into the top order had 4 wickets in his first 5 overs. They never recovered after that although their number 10 and 11 took the score form 9/40 to 96 all out.

Re: Victorian Premier Cricket 09/10 Local paper in Frankston says that Harrop back to Melb Uni as playing coach. Not sure if that also means captain coach. Also, the Heat have now got 7 coaches - with Nick Jewell appointed as director of coaching. Other Heat coaches include Darren Berry as...

Re: Victorian Premier Cricket 08/09 Leader News site says that Rummans is back for Saints as well as Andrew Goldsmith (ex-Saints and then ex-Box Hill). Both will steady the Saints top-order immensely. The same story also says that Dempsey has been re-appointed captain of Dandy.
