Re: Line and length without spin?
ahh yes, I am also a true believer in the “grip it and rip it” theory.. I sacrificed basically a whole season as a young bloke, getting no overs on a sat because I was trying to get more spin but I couldn’t land them… But spinning the crap out of it for a year...
Re: Line and length without spin?
What I mean is, even with the minimal side spin isn't this still a variation on the 'normal' delivery?, isn't it better to just get the release right with the normal 'stock ball' amount of spin?
Re: Line and length without spin?
I’m a finger spinner Jim so I don’t completely understand the mechanics of wrist spin however, isn’t that then really practicing a different delivery? I know from experience that when I'm struggling for form then I need to work on my ‘release’ mainly, off...
Re: Line and length without spin?
My thoughts are that gaining accuracy without spin is fine however, the only way that this would be beneficial is to continue to release the ball with the legspin/wrist action but with little side spin. Bowling the ball seam-up is completely different...
Re: Campaspe Cricket Association
Yeah I cant say I've heard of the Ogden boys, but I haven't been around long. Might be worth checking out www.mycricket.cricket.com.au and go through some of the Moama results, a do a player search etc.
Re: Campaspe Cricket Association

Re: Campaspe Cricket Association
Sorry Hatrick, bit slow with the reply and now all the scores are out however, may as well have some tips for next Saturday -
A's
Rochy Tigers V Bunnaloo - Easy win for the Tigers
Echuca V Moama - Moama to win but not confident, big big chance to be all...
Re: Campaspe Cricket Association
Yeah probably sold the comp a little short with the 'only'. All 7 clubs have 3 senior teams and juniors.. pretty good effort really..
Re: Finger Spin Bowling.
Sounds like the slower 'big' turner would be a good variation or 'weapon' if you can get a bit of drift and dip on a stock ball. Normal side spin probably won’t generate either of these so you'll have to work on wrist, finger & seam position to get more 'over' spin. You...
