    DVCA Off-Season 2021

I’d imagine that N.E.W. Would lose their points in this game. Absolutely no excuse not to know the rules of the competition. It’s pretty straightforward, batsmen in G Grades must retire at 50 and only comeback once everyone has batted.

    DVCA Money Shield 2020/21

Maybe go back to your pleb of a comp and ask yourself why they left in the first place.

    Barclay Shield 18/19

They classified it under a certain charge hence early plea and reprimand! It should have gone straight to the tribunal and been charged with deliberately attempting to change the condition of the wicket. It’s a disgraceful act and warrants at least 4-6 matches. It was a premediatated decision...

    Barclay Shield 18/19

If this is true regarding sand and taking it on field and then dropping it then the DVCA need to give the match review guys the ass. This is a 4 to 8 matches if this is fact at the very least. I heard it was rocks being flicked on the pitch but if the sand story is true then it’s an absolute...

    Money Shield 18/19

If you mean Lauded as in claiming catches that bounce in front of slip fieldsmen then sure. Deserved to win they did but a pretty ordinary act and one that has no place in local cricket.

Dvca - How Do We Make It Better?

It’s not a rule that’s coming in at all. Its a recommendation that all helmets be of a certain quality and standard. It’s still a personal choice whether you wear one or not. Compulsory in juniors yes, as it should be. It isn’t on the rules agenda for next year at all.

Dvca - How Do We Make It Better?

Helmet is not compulsory to wear as senior cricketers. It says should wear not have to wear. This is not a rule or rule change. All junior cricket is compulsory however.

Dvca - How Do We Make It Better?

agree with everything there except the first sentence of which we won’t agree on. The rest is spot on! Thankless job regardless of the time and effort volunteers put in. Overall the comps in reasonable shape still I reckon. Always issues regarding playing numbers at clubs and once again only as...

Dvca - How Do We Make It Better?

Wouldn’t have thought so, as I was present at Plenty’s rooms that night as well. As I was also at the sub committee meeting that was held after it of which you weren’t present. At no time did they ever mention they wanted to take over or get involved in the Executive. I spoke to Mark many times...

Dvca - How Do We Make It Better?

For what it’s worth Lovey and Wardy never made noises about taking over, their noises were about the DVCA merging with the other two comps and how it was a bad idea, of which everybody around the comp except a couple of members of the executive agree. All clubs went to a meeting which they...

Dvca - How Do We Make It Better?

Its the different scenarios which the game throws up that make it the game that it is. Excitment and adrenaline and pressure are the things that players have to deal with, its why players play and enjoy the game so much. It’s not about giving a team an advantage at all. Bowlers don’t bowl better...

    Money Shield 2017/18

Couldn’t agree more Bundoora, for someone(the fluff) to have a crack at a 17 year olds father on here is pathetic and uncalled for. Hopefully the standard of posting picks up because it’s been a cracking season and there’s plenty of good topics which deserve more discussion rather than personal...

    Money Shield 2017/18

Free cricket was such a great idea by your club and shows some ingenuity and the importance of the junior program. Other clubs unfortunately don’t realise the importance of putting in the effort, ie school visits, free fees etc... they blame parents, and changing times and old areas. It’s a cop out

    Money Shield 2017/18

Hence why I didn’t mention them in my post. Stars are a strong club culture wise as well with many of the older guys putting there time back into the kids. Think there going well overall despite the A grade results in an incredibly tight year in that grade.
