Umpires Appointments are out, and wow. Some interesting appointments.
Not sure if the umpires are appointed on previous marks or drawn out of a hat....
Heard Yarraville got away to a flyer with two young chaps opening the innings. The Melton quicks and spinner must have stopped the flow of runs after the openers fell, which resulted in wickets tumbling. Must have been a good finish! Yarraville should be very competitive this season!
Can we all also assume that you will be a playing coach? If so, which grade do you think you will select yourself in? Still think you are 1st XI standard?
Could not agree more S&W. Mick Allen has been an out and out champion, not only of the competition but for his club as a captain and leader. However, congrats to all the media award winners. Nothing to take away from them.
For the record, in my previous post, i was not 'having a go' at Chris Steven's as an umpire.
I believe him to be quite good as the previous posts appear to say.
Maybe the direction of discussion should have been forwarded to the 'Umpiring Panel' who appoints umpires, whoever that may be.

That being said, knowing him, he wouldn't ever complain or 'whinge', just take what he gets and go along with the flow.
But in saying that, again, very unlucky to be not 'at the top' especially after previous Group Finals and Championship (when it was in)...

Preston bats showed good resistance!
Showers came and made it tough conditions for the bowlers after tea. (no excuses if Melton had of lost)
