I played in the Subbies for 5 years and played about 40 1st XI games between the age of 15-19 before having a go at Premier Cricket and felt it was a great grounding for me personally. The grounds and wickets were generally quite good and you were competing weekly against guys who had played...
King and Baldry are 2 huge pick ups for a team that has just won a flag. Caulfield wicket has been faster with more bounce the past 2 years so I'd expect King to be a menace.
Be interesting to see if Graf goes back to St Kilda now he can bowl again.
Brunswick obviously the other big winners...
Looking forward to seeing who Bonbeach recruit next season. They have thrown cash at guys from Premier Cricket, Minor Counties and First Class Cricket in the past 3-4 years and come up short again this year.
How old is De Iocovo from South Caulfield? Be great to see him have a crack at St Kilda.
Caulfield and Plenty are both very good Cricket teams and this will be an outstanding contest.
I'm tipping Caulfield to turn the tables on Plenty this time around. On the previous occasion Harrison, Loughman and Van de Maat didn't play and Graf wasn't able to bowl. Think that will make the...
I believe the Caulfield/Malvern washout from earlier in the season is under protest. That would further enhance Caulfields ladder position.
Oakleigh and Plenty are the obvious other stand out teams.
There were some major upsets early in the season but the bulk of those were short format games...
He has struggled to get a regular game after they won the premiership with the inclusion of Hart. There was some talk he would switch clubs over summer possibly to Northcote. He's far to good to be playing premier 2s each week so maybe he has taken a step back to enjoy his Cricket again?
Curators will be starting there work on Thursday this week to get a wicket up due to recent rain. Would be silly and unfair on many clubs to play this week.
Great idea about the T20 being a proper fixture. It's an excellent opportunity for the lower grades to play on main grounds also and for clubs to make a huge day of it.
A few clubs in the North have done well with early recruiting. But I'm sure they realise that's what's required as the South/North group is going to be particularly strong.
Oakleigh, Ormond, Caulfield, Brighton, Malvern and an ever improving Elsternwick team are always hard to beat.
Is Brambleby likely to head to Premier Cricket in the next few years? Looks a good prospect.
Grundman-Perera from Caulfield also looks a very good player. Very clean striker and his leggies could also be developed.
