Re: Analysis
Hi guys, its been a while but I would really like to thank you guys for contributing and giving me a hand. Ive had a number of nets and really tried to focus on the things discussed here and have noticed substantial improvement. I'll try and get some more footage asap but the...
Re: Analysis
Thanks a lot for the advice, something that has never been pointed out to me before and definitely something I'll be trying to rectify.
Is there anyone who springs to mind that my technique resembles at all and I would perhaps benefit from watching?
Analysis
Hi guys I was wondering if a few of you would be able to take a quick look at this video and offer me any tips, advice etc.

There's not heaps of footage and I'll try to film some more but is there anything you guys can see that could be improved.
No matter how large or...
Re: what do you think
My opening partner uses the 'fatso' on occasion and it is an absolute beast of a bat. Massive edges, good middle, tremendously heavy. He'll only use it for 7 or 8 overs maximum because its ridiculously heavy, I have seen him top edge a few that carry the boundary easily...
Re: Sledging.. How far is too far?????
Im not sure whether you can reserve the right to walk as based on how the opposition have treated you, I believe its either all the time, or not at all.
Re: Sledging.. How far is too far?????
I respect walkers and agree with most points raised but my philosophy is that you take the good with the bad and move on. If I decided to walk do I reserve the right to stand my ground when give out incorrectly? Of course not, human error is part of the...
Re: Sledging.. How far is too far?????
Bulldust, I'm prepared to cop all manner of chat if I choose not to walk but to be dictated to that I must walk is drivel. Cricket remains a competitive game and if I am given an opportunity I'm going to latch onto it. Who knows when my luck will end...
Re: playing against senior bowlers for the first time
I have been in a similar situation having just completed my first season in senior cricket and the biggest tip I can give to you is to not be intimidated and if you are, dont show it. You will be tested on occasion whether it be with short...
Re: Test XI Selection Thread - NZ Tour
Thanks for the info Boris and Lions, there's a fair bit to be excited about with Australia's young fast bowling stocks, Hazelwood, Pattison, Starc, Cutting, McDermott, Hastings, Richardson all exciting fast bowlers under 25. Will be good to see how they...
Re: Test XI Selection Thread - NZ Tour
What sort of bowler is Cutting? Haven't seen him personally so what does he have, raw pace, steepling bounce, fantastic accuracy? Why has he been such a success?
Re: Help with timing
Thanks for the reply mate, Im not sure the problem is shot selection, more my own technique. I tend to see the full ball and try to get as far forward as possible but being a shorter batsmen (5'5) and batting a fair way back in my crease a combination of bounce and my...
Help with timing
Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone had any tips/training techniques to aid with timing. I tend to play the quicker bowlers quite well but find myself spooning catches to cover/mid-off when a medium pacer comes on. The problem is mainly with balls pitched on about off...
Re: How to build Long Innings?
Im an opening batsmen and their are a few things I tend to do early in my innings.
-Dont be afraid to leave the ball early
-Play to your strengths, dont become too worried about 'norms' like playing straight etc. If your favoured shot is the pull, play it, if...
Re: Channel Nine Commentary Team Changes for 2008/09?
Agreed, you know you have a problem when the microphone has a higher IQ then the bloke talking into it.
