I would suspect that the newest recruit is not getting paid to play cricket. However, as Mick said a few pages back it's a career decision. That would indicate that he may be getting paid to work for someone(or 2) within the club. A four year deal sounds like a four year apprenticeship to me...

Simple answer to this. Get rid of the ridiculous finals system and go back to the old system of 1 v 4 and 2 v 3. This would free up an extra week. Getting a home final and playing a team ranked lower than you should be enough of an advantage anyway.

How about the Carnegie South v Hampton Central game? Who'll be going 'back' to watch this?? It's played at neither of the two clubs home ground.....interesting logic in fixturing there!

Excellent advice! - we wouldn't want our competition's main source of public information/communication being over utilised now would we?

Read with great interest on the CMCA website that all 18 rule changes have been approved for the coming season. Fabulous! Now if they only told us what these 18 changes actually are, so we could all be enlightened.

So conversely a good captain would also ensure developing kids get a bowl too? Very strange logic there I think! Limited overs I would have thought applies to the number of overs each team bats in a game as well wouldn't it??

Interesting debate on the one day games and bowling restrictions. The general consensus being that the restrictions are there to help the kids to get more of a go. Strongly agree with the theory but then on the flip side shouldn't we have batting restrictions as well? How many of these 'kids who...

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 2010/11 JohnDingels - Couldn't agree more! Bat on leg stump and anything down the leg side is a wide. Maybe we could re-think the 55 over idea for ALL grades to compensate for all the extra balls bowled???? And as for being open to the idea of...

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10 Another ace up the sleeve for us if you like is Dolby having only returned to the club in Rd 9 is a proven run maker and technical probably our best bat. Won't be much of an ace up your sleeve if he only returned in rd 9 - that would make it only...
