In my opinion the downfall in press coverage of local cricket in Geelong seems to have come after sports writer Jay Clark moved to Perth. Perhaps because Jay played local cricket himself (pretty good spin bowler and could bat a bit) he was willing and able...

Just found this forum recently. Great to have somewhere like this to discuss local cricket. As A.T. fan sad they won't have Benci or Strods this season. Will make things harder for them. I heard they put up an admirable effort to no avail to persuade Strods...
