Re: New Zealand in Australia
Kiwis certainly have a bit to work with there young bowlers and it was a brave but correct decision by Vettori to bowl first but on that deck , but bowling Australia out for anything more then they did would have been a fail given the conditions .
Its amazing...
Re: Australia in India
Im glad someone mentioned the toss ... its hard enough to win in India as it is but becomes twice as hard when you bat second in every game on there decks , you are playing catchup from ball one .
I also think people are getting a little carried away with a series...
Re: Bat Grip
While i do agree with what you are saying and the Bradman comparison is right , i think we need to remember that Bradman was one out of the box and and could have batted however he wanted and still have done well .
For the average person i believe it is best to try to keep...
Re: Bat Grip
Without seeing it sounds like you are chocking the bat , move your grip up the handle a little and don't grip too hard with your bottom hand . People tend to do this when they try to hit the ball too hard .
Key to this is to just use your index finger and thumb to grip the bat...
Re: Elbowing Watson 'wasn't deliberate' - Gambhir
While I agree with most of what you say i cannot agree at all with the above comment , maybe it reads different to how you meant it too .
Sledging has been happening since the days of WG Grace and beyond and to say that Australia are the...
Re: Australia in India
Will be interesting to see how the pitch plays on day 3 , if it holds up the Aussies should be able to bat through the day . 613 is a long way away and they need to bat for 2 days to save this game .
Re: Elbowing Watson 'wasn't deliberate' - Gambhir
Always need to be careful when judging things like this because we can only see the vision and don't know exactly what has happened , but that is all we have to go on . Lets face it there is niggle form both sides in this and anyone who doesn't...
Re: Zaheer Khan
We can agree to disagree here :)
Sharma has far more upside and troubles all of the best bats going which for mine is always the benchmark of any bowler . I still stand by what I say , in 12 months he will be the number 1 pace bowler in the world .
Zaheer has been...
Re: Zaheer Khan
Would still take Sharma any day of the week , will be the best pace bowler in the world within the next 12 months if he isn't already .
Re: Trigger Movements
Totally agree , you see so manys guys worrying about going back and across etc and they wonder why they fall across there stumps all the time . Do what is natural but always ensure you are balanced and your eyes and head are steady and in line .
Re: Whats the fastest you have faced?
Facing high speeds on a bowling machine can be a bit deceptive , you know where the ball is going to go and if you watch most guys they are almost in position before the ball is released .
Ive faced a bit above 90mph and was able to drive and cut because I...
Re: Zaheer Khan
Its not constant taunting , however Zaheer is known and has a reputation for being a bit of a mouth and that one incident was just way over the top .
If you also add in he felt the need to ring Brett Lee to apologise for his 'sledging' during the first innings as he felt...
Re: Australia in India
Apart form one series win we have never played well in India even with all those great players . The way this game went was no suprise to me at all , it has just highlighted defencies in the side that so far we have been able to mask since those retirements against...
Re: Zaheer Khan
Think we need to remember it takes two tango here . For the past 15 years we ( Aussies ) have played hard , uncomprimising cricket and have treaded a thin line between playing with sportsmanship and beyond that . And it has worked for us .
We simple are now getting back what...
Re: Fisher Bats
They are a great bat ... have had one before and they are quality . However ..... because of the higher quality of the wood there life span will be shorter then a lower grade willow or wood that has been bleached .
But the performance of them is sensational , I started using...
Re: left arm bowlers
Open your stance up a little , point your left foot towards mid wicket this will open you up without it being too drastic . You still want to be side on as much as possible .
If this guys gets you out often or troubles you do you study him before your bat or even when...
Re: Back foot shots
Sounds like you are pretty technically sound ( without seeing you ) . What DK said is spot on too .
I would suggest trying to develop quicker hands , guys who pull and hook well not only get in position early but they have great hand speed through the ball . Get on a...
Re: Cut Shot
1) get your hands above the ball , this will naturally roll your wrists over the top off the ball at impact . If not you will always hit the ball at a catchable height unless you go right over the top . If you wrists roll backwards it means they are under the ball .
2) don't try...
Re: Haunting dismissal
This is spot on . If you start thinking of it as a hat trick ball your natural inclination will be simple to not get out to it abd as a result play negatively . When you do that you start seconds guessing yourself and in the end will be caught in two minds , which is a...
