1st ODI: England vs India at Southampton

First match in this series is close to getting underway.

England XI: 1 Alastair Cook, 2 Matt Prior+, 3 Ian Bell, 4 Kevin Pietersen, 5 Paul Collingwood*, 6 Andrew Flintoff, 7 Ravi Bopara, 8 Dimitri Mascarenhas, 9 Stuart Broad, 10 James Anderson, 11 Monty Panesar.

India XI: 1 Sachin Tendulkar, 2 Sourav Ganguly, 3 Gautam Gambhir, 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 Rahul Dravid*, 6 Dinesh Karthik, 7 Mahendra Singh Dhoni+, 8 Piyush Chawla, 9 Ajit Agarkar, 10 Zaheer Khan, 11 RP Singh.

Toss: India won the toss and have elected to bowl first.

Owais Shah very stiff to be left out of the England side, he was their highest runs scorer in the series against West Indies. There's no Ramesh Powar or Robin Uthappa for the Indian side.

Should see a good match here.

Re: 1st ODI: England vs India at Southampton

England are well placed at 1/146 after 30 overs.

Matt Prior fell at the start of the second powerplay for 19. Alistair Cook has batted well to move to 64 not out while Ian "ding dong" Bell is 51 not out and scoring at almost a run a ball.

Zaheer Khan has the only wicket.

England are in a good position at the moment, if they can increase the run-rate from here they can go for a big assualt at the end as they will have wickets in hand.

Re: 1st ODI: England vs India at Southampton

RP Singh strikes and it is a much needed one for India. Cook made it to his maiden ODI century but fell shortly after for a well compiled 102.

Ian Bell is still there on 91 not out and England is 2/221 in the 42nd over. Kevin Pietersen is the new batsman.

Re: 1st ODI: England vs India at Southampton

Re: 1st ODI: England vs India at Southampton

England make 288-2

lets see what their bowlers can do...

Re: 1st ODI: England vs India at Southampton

India all out for 184 after their 50 Overs.

James Anderson taking 4/23

top score for India: Rahul Dravid making 46 runs off 72 balls. Just slightly faster than his innings in the last test match.

Re: 1st ODI: England vs India at Southampton

kinda shocked at that batting. wish i could've watched. Broad and Anderson must've been hitting their spots to put the pressure on the Indian batsmen in order to get the early wickets and keep the run rate really low
