Re: 1st ODI: Pakistan v South Africa

Well, South Africa went absolutely ballistic today, they smashed everything the Pakistanis threw at them and many balls disappeared into the stands. I sure as hell wish I had bloody Foxtel and this would have been awesome to watch.

The seemingly out-of-sorts Graeme Smith smashed 72 off just 47 balls, an innings which included 15 fours. Smith was the first wicket to fall.....at 140 in the 19th over!!! AB de Villiers was more modest with his approach with 67 off 78 and he was ably supported by Jaques Kallis who plundered 88 off just 85 deliveries. Ashwell Prince chipped in with 39 and as if that wasn't enough, Mark Bouncher came in and bludgeoned 78 off 38 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes!!!

Unbelievable stuff!!!!!

South Africa amassed 6/392 off their 50 overs.

Most of the Pakistani bowlers were wrecked to shreds. Naved-ul-Hasan took 2/92 off 8 overs, Mohammad Sami 0/68 off 7, Mohammad Hafeez 2/69 off 9 and Abdul Razzaq went an astonishing 22 off his only over. Shahid Afridi can hold his head up high, 2/42 off his allotted 10 overs and Shoaib Malik 0/32 off 6 overs bowled.

In reply, Pakistan are 8/125 after 20 overs, they're just going for it now. Mohammad Yousuf has the only decent score with 39 off 24 balls.

Ntini has 3 wickets, Kallis has two but has been extremely expensive.
